It's good that nothing is happening till 25. The last FedEx Championship was a boring disaster for the fans and the reputation of the PGAT. Loved that Viktor won but did you notice how the announcers had to flog that mule over the finish line after Rory loses by 13 strokes and the other golden boys were worse off.
The most exciting golf being played right now is the LIV Tour. Let's hope that they don't screw it up. Maybe they'll all come to their senses by 25 and do something good for the game.

How the World works; you can say anything you want, you can put it in writing, but the "guy" with the $ is in charge. If they actually try to sustain PGA/DP/LIV AND carry these 18 events, then ALL the "tours" are diminished, (even if they up the ante for DP…) because how many tournaments is a Jon Rahm – Scottie, etc going to play in a year??? There's the 18 big $ events, 4 majors and a tiny handful of other tourneys one will want to play, a Nicklaus/Palmer, etc. Is FedEx still going on? Does the PGA still have mandatory events? What about Dubai? Part of the problem is that the top players want lives and don't want to play 44 tournaments! No way you can have the PGA with 17 designated events, 18 new $ events, 4 majors, 3 fedex; that's 42 events? huh? Joh Rahm played 18 events in this calendar year…it seems Monahan needs to brush up on his 'rithmatic.
The money is obscene. I'm hoping the PGA players back out of any rounds being played at Donald Trump's courses, regardless of money. If they do I hope they don't acknowledge the man if he wants to shake your hand make sure you are carrying a lot of sanitizer, and leave asap.
PGA TOUR players should be so grateful to LIV….since LIV started the PGA Tour has not only increased prize money…they also guaranteed $500k base income to each Tour player for the year for ghose who end at the. bottom…this is huge….so Rory should stop moaning about it now and move on…its embarrassing!!

Lmao, pga started degrading by 2012 2012, the entire area fell apart due to crime, costs and over population. They moved in and boom, everything started falling apart. Ive seen it ao many times i have stopped counting. Dont act stupid.
Ceos were getting corp kickbacks to keep jobs there, state was dolling out huge corp reperations, after 2008 all the money started being drained out of palm beach. Ceos took profits and retired after sending pga millions and millions over the years. Now its just another over priced armpit.

Not sure I understand the thinking behind this structure.
Seems very odd to me.
With the 18 events looks like they are creating a new 'Elite Level' tour on its own.
So if you play in that then your not going to have much time to play the other tours.
Alex, my initial thoughts are how this will affect the " normal" tournaments on all tours, and we will finally see which players went to LIV for the money, yet spouted the better work/life balance. Is this 18 extra events plus 14 on LIV, plus 4 majors🤔. I bet the sponsors of smaller events on the PGA tour are having a serious look at whether they will continue to pump money into events when the best players target the new events.
This could lead to the main PGA calendar becoming like the current DP World tour, DEVALUED.

Doubt that schedule will work for any of them, especially those with families. I bet if you sacked all the executives, the players could come up with something a lot better.

My advice to LIV players is to NOT get involved with this scheme. Cannot trust PGA since they have lied and said so many hateful things to LIV and their players many times before. PGA and their players will continue to hate LIV and their players…can't trust when this kind of hate is involved.
If this happens, professional golf is dead. Period. LIV has been nothing but a negative to the sport.
If golfers can play on all three tours, there is effectively freedom to play where you want. This was the argument of those that went to LIV. So will they be refunded the fines they received for leaving the PGA or DP tours?

How is moving between the three tours going to affect the LIV Team concept?? So, say a PGA member goes to a LIV event, how will that affect the limited LIV field and whose team will they play on? Questions, questions, questions, ….
Thanks Alex, good update. What I used to love about golf was that it was simple-no politics, just competitiveness and self improvement. Now, it's the complete opposite- revolving around power, control and money. It's like a couple of bratty kids being forced to get along. One would hope in a few years we all wake up to the way it used to be…
Of course LIV will start getting World Ranking Points. The best players will be in the world tour events. It will be based off the majors and the order of merit on each tour. A new OWGR rankings system will be implemenred and backdated taking into account all golf events including LIV. It's fairly evident who the best players in the world are and it's not currently represented by the world rankings.
