  1. Spieth and Thomas picked not surprised as both are not playing well? Interesting to see who Luke Donald now picks, will he be brave enough to pick more than two rookies? I hope he brings Rose back as his experience will be needed.

  2. Zach Johnson is an idiot. JT hasn’t come close to winning this year, missing Cuts and the Fed Ex playoffs. Keegan Bradley won two events and including a designated event with a top field. Keegan also played well in the Fed Ex playoff. Keegan deserved a pick over JT, Ricky and Sam Burns. But those guys are all vacation together, so commodore matters over who deserves or played better.

  3. JT has now put himself in a terrible spot. With his current mental struggles around his game, this could be a “death blow” to his confidence if he doesn’t play well. He should not have been picked and placed in that position.

  4. I feel sorry for JT….. Out of form for a good while, massive pressure on him….. He will really struggle and it's through no fault of his own.
DJ, Bryson, Glover, Keegan, Gooch or P.Reed (If anyone on the team liked him) would have been far better picks IMO…

  5. Good thing they are all buddies, they can cry on each other’s shoulders as they go down in flames. The Ryder Cup has become a popularity contest on the American side, instead of a golf contest.

  6. Zach Johnson stuttered through this interview because he cannot justify JT pick. He literally he said it was about who gets along with each other. Pathetic.

  7. how embarrassing! he should be ashamed of himself – worst captain ever! my best buddies made the team they all like me so much! loser

  8. End of the day its a simple result.

If the US wins, Johnson comes off like a genius and the task force looks good.

if the US loses, Thomas gets burned at the stake (Metaphorically), Johnson comes off like a STOOGE (like monaghan) and the Euros utilize way more creative chants as they pull off the win.

It's going to be much more interesting in a few years when this PGA/PIF/DP deal is (supposedly) in effect to see who's ok'd and who's not.

P.S. Johnson didn't come off well in either the press conference or this interview.

  9. Pretty horrible team, Bryson, Phil, Patrick Reed and Dustin Johnson can easily beat Fowler, Speith, JT and Morikawa. This is the 1st time I think Europe has more talent because the American LIV players are being excluded (except Brooks).

  10. Truth be told, if the US went with Glover/Keegan then we would be hearing complaints about those picks just as we are with the current selections. I think there are strengths and weaknesses to all perspectives but at the end of the day, the players who made the roster are solid and so are the guys who didn't. I think experience and chemistry plays a big factor in the ryder cup and I think JTs pick was based on that. With that being said, Bradley is a veteran and he has international experience, I'm honestly more surprised Cam young made this squad instead of him. Tons of storylines and controversy in this year's ryder cup, should be interesting!

  11. Koepka doesn't belong in this and neither does JT. Bradley and Glover both won twice and they are probably never going to be this close again at their age. Thomas won nothing. I guess they aren't part of the Jupiter clique. Go Europe!

  12. This JT pick was a Tiger pick. Tiger used his influence to get his buddy on the team. Sam Burns is likely a Sheffler pick. This is essentially a fraternity golf trip, hope it all works out for them.

  13. JT can't even make the top 70 for the year and he gets a pick? What a joke. These captains act like they take months to figure their picks out. Johnson had his mind made up months ago. What a douche.

  14. Golf channel don’t sit back and hide your hands. You guys were the main reason JT made the team you did a whole segment about getting him on the team is all malarkey Spieth or JT should not be on that team this year. Neither one of them have been consistent enough to be on the team .

  15. Bryson on form, shoots 58, but not in the clique. Not complaining though as European, please ,choose out of form players.

  16. Europe is laughing at the fact that Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Patrick Reed and Talor Gooch are all missing! Winning is the goal!

  17. The only way we will know if the selections were successful is if they win the cup. Meritocracy will not win the cup, especially on foreign soil. A special blending of pairings is needed to get to Sunday, level.

  18. Johnson actually said the 6 qualified players said who they wanted in the team…so, Scheffler got his best buddie Burns to hold his hand. He also admitted cameraderie. What kind of a captqin is he? And people should stop mentioning LIV players. They play exhibition golf (only 11 short tournaments a season), and against has-beens and those who barely made cuts on the PGA tour. The one who leads the ranking at LIV tour, Gooch, has won only 1 PGA tournament (a smqll one) his whole pro career (since 2014). That say how poor the level is at that tour,

  19. Perhaps JT was picked to bring his caddie Bones to draw on his experience despite the fact that Bones hasn been good for JT???
