Ironically I had a very similar shot tonight and it's not a shot we ever really practice. My strategy was to take almost no sand and hit it like a 45 yard shot .. it worked pretty good but in my case I think the outcome of putting the shot about 6.5 feet from the hole had more to do with luck than skill
Funny thing about bunkers is people consider them a hazard. But if you get a good lie and know what you're doing, it is as easy as hitting off the fairway.

I don't know, but the club I would try would be my pitching wedge. I wouldn't have the confidence to play a sandwedge from that distance.

Nice. On a 45-yard bunker shot you want to catch a piece of the ball. You can't explode it that far. For added fun, try carrying it over a tree.
