  1. They showed Stuart Appleby instead of Payne Stewart 5 times in this video. Google "Stuart Appleby in knickers" in Google Images and you'll see Stuart in the identical outfit. LOL.

  2. When I started playing golf in 1986, I watched golf, read books, bought VHS tapes, everything.
I wanted to drive it like Greg Norman, have the smooth iron swing of Fred Couples, and I wanted to be able to putt like Jack.
But the classiest guy, the dude in your group who always pushed for you to have fun and cherish little moments,..that was Payne Stewart.
A CLASS ACT that has yet to be surpassed. No ten golfers today combined, can muster the class and humility that Payne had.
    RIP MR STEWART.

  3. Showing my age. During his final year on the tour, at Augusta, I followed him closely. In those days during practice rounds you could get close enough to the players to hear them. On the 4th, the par 3, two lovely girls in their early 20's called him over to the ropes. I can still remember the gold plates on the heels and toes of his shoes. One girl whispered something in his ear. Loudly he said "thank you so much for the offer. I have the most beautiful wife and family a man could ever wish for. There is no way I would ever do something to jeopardize losing them". Can't find those words coming out of the mouths of athletes today. His famed, framed pictures from his memorial service with the footprints in the dew is one of our most prized possessions. As a PGA Life Member, I am blessed to have played, promoted, and taught the same game as Payne. RIP Legend, God bless.

  4. I worked at the Disney tournament, Payne’s last one. He wasn’t playing well and told one of our guys that if he missed the cut it was OK because his son had a soccer game tomorrow and he would like to see him play. Payne missed the cut. I would like to think God wanted him to see his son’s game before he died.

Also, Disney has a locker with Payne’s clothes, etc. as a memorial to him.

  5. Hey Golf Plus. This video needs an edit. There are several still shots in this film that show Stuart Appleby, not Payne Stewart.

  6. When this happened. It was said that they ran out of oxygen, they all passed out, the plane crashed and they all died. The media back then wasn’t like the media today. They actually reported the facts and the news.

  7. Could you take a look at Nick Faldo he was the most arrogant golfer ever but a great player and brought some good memories to us Brits golf fans

  8. One of the pics showing Payne in knickers is actually Stuart Appleby–the red and blue knicker pic is Stuart Appleby not Payne Stewart.

  9. You have Stuart Appleby . Poor work. Some clown mixed up the names and grabbed a pic of Stuart Applebee rather than Payne Stewart. Poor work

  10. Lots of inaccuracies in this poorly researched video. In fact, too many to document.
