  1. My high school teammate has the distinction of beating Bird and Indiana State, 3 times in the 1978 season. Home, Away and for the Missouri Valley Conference Championship. We know what happened in 79… 😆

This was before ESPN, cable, internet…so when I saw L.Bird in the tiny print of the newspaper, leading the nation in scoring 30+, starting in '77, I called my boy and asked, 'Man…who is this bad brother at Indy St. Fillin' it up!!' (I imagined someone like Marvin Barnes, or Larry Kenon). My guy just asked me, are you sitting down? He said Larry Bird was a white boy, not only that, he was slow and couldn't jump… but, he's the BADDEST white boy I've EVER SEEN. True story…

  2. I e been watching the NBA since 1969. Watched the aba. .. no one hand a higher basketball I q

  3. Bru I’m not gonna lie I would’ve gave my guy the n word pass he had some black in him I’m not playen

  4. Lol amazing how many people never met Pete Maravich He even spoke like he was Black

  5. Larry Bird is the most overrated player in NBA history. Although he had a most talented group of supporting Celtic teammates, he managed to win only three NBA titles. Compared to Michael, Kareem, Magic, Shaquille, Kobe, and LeBron, Larry falls short. Larry could not carry/lead his team to any dynasty.  Larry was not a bona-fide franchise player. He frequently wasted energy in foolish confrontations with opposing players which yielded little success and only served to Characterize Larry as a hothead. Finally, and most significantly, Larry pales so darkly when compared to the greatest winner, the greatest Celtic, and, arguably the greatest basketball player of all-time, Bill Russell. Bill Russell led the Celtics to 11 NBA Championships in 13 years – including 8 NBA Championships in a row.

The Detroit Pistons soundly defeated Bird's Celtics for NBA Championships twice. Once Michael Jordan gained some experience as an NBA player, Michael's Bulls dominated Larry's Celtics, winning 6 NBA Championships for the  Chicago Bulls.

Larry was a lot of loud talk and bluster, with limited achievements. Larry's three NBA Titles in 14 or 15 years in the NBA, although Larry had outstanding players supporting him, reveal Larry's overrated status in the NBA.

And how does Larry compare to Steph Curry?….Larry doesn't. Steph has repeatedly proved his status as, by far and unquestionably, the highest percentage, highest output (three point shots taken per year), highest three-point total points, three-point shooter of all-time.

  6. MVP 84 to 86 in era Dr J, Magic, Kareem, Moses, MJ, Isaiah too bad the injury to back robbed world of his prime after 85… yes he was league MVP & FMVP with a broken back.

  7. People say that Larry Bird was the ultimate trash talker, but my man Bird was actually a prophet! He’s tell you what he was going to do to you, maybe even give you the play, and then he’d just do it! Legend! 😂

  8. Bird is probably one of the few honorary black dudes in American history. Em is probably the other.

  9. I love the shorts with these Super Humans, Larry and every player out there is there because of work and ability, I really believe the respect and love each other especially in in the later years!

  10. People talk about the athleticism of today's players and how Larry couldn't keep up if he played in today's NBA. Let me tell you something: Larry Bird's mental athleticism would toy with their minds and would make these boys wet their pants.
