You probably know just how tied in MC Hammer was to the 1991 Atlanta Falcons, who were 2 Legit 2 Quit. But what you might not know is how the season ended, where running back Mike Rozier decided to throw Hammer under the bus for some bizarre reason

"Too legit!!! Too legit to quit!!! HEY HEY!!!"
Sorry, just had to.
Hammerman! Hammer, Hammerman! Hammer, Hammerman! Ah Yeah!
In the end the Falcons got crushed by the 1991 Redskins in the nfc divisional round Hammer Time
Incidentally, John Elway's final moment in the NFL was beating the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl
I really enjoyed this video and I remember this happening because I was rooting for Atlanta because I wanted the Lions to play vs Atlanta in the nfc championship game because it would have been in the Silverdome. Unfortunately washington won and crushed my Lions the next Sunday at rfk in the nfc championship game
Please Hammer dont make Rozier late
One of your best video….
Until you brought up the 2023 playoff LOL
For lying Rozier is now on Thin Ice Ice Baby
I remember seeing the 1991 Falcons music video and the coach that look like Rodney Dangerfield got the moves
7:14 – The 39.6 gag
You are GREAT at finding interesting stories & angles. Having worked in radio & advertising the thing I implore you to consider is”self editing”. You know so much info about so much but there’s no reason to put all your knowledge in your videos. I find myself stopping or ffwding your videos to get to the point of the video. There’s waaay too much extemporaneous info that’s not directly related to your subject. Some info you relay is relevant to the subject but not necessary.
You’re one of my fav creators on here. The stories & angles you make videos on is ASTOUNDING!
As a fan, I just ask that you self-edit and don’t fall in love with anything you put down. “Does it serve the story because you are telling a story.” “Is it necessary”
Ask yourself these questions and your views will take off.
I can’t wait for your next video! You are pretty awesome!
Rozier was dead-ass wrong for that. Head coach Jerry Glanville was generous enough to let Hammer hang out with the team and Rozier did THAT?! Missing the team flight to D.C. was bad enough, but dragging Hammer's impeccable name through the mud as a CYA tactic made things even worse.
I remember the 91 playoff game against Washington when late in the 4th quarter of the 24-7 loss the camera flashed to Hammer on the sidelines and color man Dan Fouts said “Two legit ain’t spit.”
Nah. My 1st thought is Deion sanders and Tom McKuen doing laterals. Then Michael Haynes Hail Mary catch against the 49ers. That catch put the miners behind the saints and falcons who went to the playoffs. And kept the eagles and 49ers out with 10-6 records. And then those to Leo games the falcons played against the redskins. 56-17 and 24-7. Those seat cushions. And Ricky sanders burning Deion Sanders. Then I think of McHammer. Who to real hip hop heads feel like he fell off before please hammer don’t hurt em.
We didn’t like 2 legit 2 quit. Too much mainstream at a time when we want harder raps. Like “hammer they put me in the mix” not can’t touch this or 2 legit to quit. Remember the next album he had he over compensated by going too hard with “it’s all good” ugh. This song was like baby got back. That song won a Grammy but wasn’t the best rap song of ‘92.
Lol@ Martin Mayhew get pushed on the ground by Pegrem. 15:25 Oh memories.
You can replace 2 legit 2 quit
Twenty eight to three
It works as the chorus or hook
Good equivalent would be Drake and the Raptors.
Ha. 18:01 in Rozier’s defense. He may Hammer may have in fact kidnapped him. Maybe it was someone’s bachelors party and Yanno hijinx. It was D.C. in the early 90s. Marion Barry was about to be released from prison in a few months. Could been an epic story l. And that’s why there isn’t much about it. Ijs
He would have a better rap rating if he spiked the mike on every song.
As a 15 yr old at the time who just got the new Tecmo Super Bowl. (Which was the only thing other than walking to the gym to play basketball while stuck in England later that summer) and one other video licensed video game I used Houston and Atlanta a lot (out side reskins) and used rosier alot. Having said that. At the time I remember wondering why rozier didn’t play. I didn’t catch the beginning of the game. He told he was suspended for violation blah blah. I thought: must’ve been a big violation for the guy who leaves Elvis Presley game tickets to suspend a guy before playing the skins. Well thanks for answering that long forgotten question. Whada u know Ya live long enough.
Not to mention hammer’s enormous entourage.
Jaguargator's videos are too legit to quit
So a former Oakland A’s bat boy turned rapper was the reason the Falcons lost the game? C’mon now.
Too legit to quit!
1. That Redskins team in 91 was one of the best ever. I was 10 at the time and many of my friends were fans of the team (for context, I live in Columbia, Maryland; halfway between Baltimore and Washington DC) and wore team gear several days a week to school. Nowadays with the Ravens and the Commanders sucking; most of the Commanders fans are concentrated in Montgomery and Prince George's Counties.
1a. Both Falcons/Redskins game were exciting: the regular season game Mark Rypien threw for 442 yards and 6 TD's; the playoff game was played under a steady rainfall and fans threw seat cushions onto the field after the game was over.
1b. Kicker Chip Lohmiller outscored an entire team … he had 149 points on 56 XP's and 31 FG's while the Colts as a team scored 143 points. No I am not bullshitting you.
2. And that Wild Card win by the Falcons was a over a Saints team with the Dome Patrol defense at their peak (in 91, the Saints allowed the fewest points and were second to the Eagles in fewest total yards allowed)
That was good!
The comment about the playoff loss being not quite so bad made me do some pointless computation. 24-7 is slightly worse than 56-17 if you look at it this way: 24-7 is beating the other team by a factor of 3.429. 56-17 is beating the other team by a factor of 3.294.
So funny to see Brett Favre in the Falcons roster too. I guess Brent Fullwood didn't exactly fill the Rozier-sized void left.
This is very similar to what happened in 1977 with Elton John and his ownership of the LA Aztecs in the NASL. Just before the start of the 1976 season, Elton had bought an ownership stake in the club & like MC Hammer was allowed to sit on the bench during matches. The club had also signed the legendary but very troubled George Best who while dealing with alcoholism was still capable of being a top player. However prior to game 2 of that year's Western Conference finals vs Seattle, George Best was not on the team flight to Seattle & team officials were concerned about his whereabouts. Best did get to Seattle but 6 hours after the team did & then like Rozier decided to break curfew by bar hopping around Seattle & didn't get back to the hotel until 7 am on match day. Because of this, coach Terry Fisher had no choice but to suspend Best. Best then went on a profanity laced & drunken tirade against the club & Elton John when asked by the media about the suspension. For those wondering where Elton John was during all of this, he was on tour in Vancouver the night this took place & would meet the team in Seattle in time for the game. This incident was the beginning of the end of George Best's time with the Aztecs as the following season he was suspended for missing 2 practices due to going on benders the night before & the club finally had enough by trading him to Ft Lauderdale. As for Elton John, this whole controversy surrounding George Best was one of the main reasons why he sold his stake in the club at the end of the 1977 season & didn't get involved in soccer again until he bought a stake in Watford in 1983.
