I think it’s to help him not sway. He loads his back leg a lot for power but if you get sloppy, you can sway. I think he is doing this to stay consistent.

Yeah, you can kind of watch as his weight shifts at the start of his back swing. Dude is certainly more a feel golfer than relying on pure mechanics like someone like Horvat.

He has always appeared like a rocker to me.. Starts heavy on the front, prob 60/40, and then loads super heavy to the back foot, he kind of rocks back into his front foot and his torso always seems to be disconnected/late. There was also a period of time where he was exaggerating lifting his back foot really early, that appears to have stuck around but to a lesser degree than when he first was trying to initiate a change. He’s a very athletic guy so he can kind of do whatever and strike the ball very well.
