The (Saudi-backed) PGA Tour is kidding itself and living in complete denial if it thinks it is in the “driver’s seat” of world golf. They are complete hypocrites and should be apologising unreservedly to everyone involved in LIV Golf after bagging the hell out of them for 18 months for taking “blood money” from the Saudis, and then doing exactly the same thing themselves.
Disruption is never comfortable, but when an incumbent organisation continues to ignore the reason that disruption happened and refuses to adapt, the disruption ultimately becomes fatal! What we are witnessing here from Jay Monaghan is exactly the behaviour that the CEOs of Blockbuster Video, Kodak, Nokia, Palm Pilot, and many more displayed on their way to irrelevance.
