If the knock against Jalen and everyone else on the line is that they are playing against backups, then just make sure that same logic is being applied to the opposition as well.
In the first quarters especially, most of the players on the field are going to see real game time, the fact that rookies are flashing against older players is a positive, encouraging sign, not something to hold against them.

The Browns heavily emphasize the trenches similar to the Eagles. They had a top 5 OLine last year, so even though Carter didn't get any sacks, it's encouraging to see him do well vs that OLine. Keep in mind these are only his 3rd, 4th, 5th…and 10th reps ever in the NFL. Only direction is to rise!

On the play he was criticized by others for, it was clear he wasn't going after the passer. He rushing away from the play towards the right tackle. He'll be a problem for opposing offensive lines.
