Irons could easily rival your driver if you would just keep the clubface open all the way to the side of the ball and create a vortex* at the ball. Swing on plain to the flag and finish with a big reverse "C". Yes, you have to swing in a straight line to the flag.
*Vortex is a word that I thought of to be used in a golf swing and anyone using it without my consent is subject to paying me 2% of their gross from the word use.

Mine was 5 iron , never could play the fairway woods . That killed my game.
