I do it a lot. If I’m playing bad (for my standards) and I’m not in a good mood and I don’t want to play anymore, why drag myself through another 3 and a half hours of it?
I've walked off many times, just don't see any point of continuing with bad swing habits and don't want to lose any more balls. Typically the pace of play contributes to this decision as well. Kind of surprised it's not higher.
Yea I don't think this is accurate in the slightest because people change answers to fit with the masses and feel more a part of the inclusive group of people. Almost like wanting to be more popular
I almost did while learning last year. But the strangers in my playing group encouraged me to fight through it! Then, I scored a birdie. The rest is history.
My brother made me wake up on a Sunday morning (I worked 10-12 hours the day before), we get to out Cc I bogey and then double and said yea I might as well go back to sleep and left 😅
Hit six balls into the water on 18 from 160 yds out. All duck hooks out of nowhere. Drove straight past the green on the way to the parking lot. Edit. I was playing alone with no one behind me. Put the clubs up for a year.
I used to have time to play during the week by myself and I called it a day after 9 a few times. But for the average golfer who is out there once a month on weekends with their buddies I would imagine that barely ever happens.
If you aren't a professional golfer, just have fun. I hate playing with someone that plays golf 8 times a year and then gets pissed off after a bad shot. Try hard, but have fun.
Decided to play golf my senior year of high school.. had a home match(2-3rd match of the year) beautiful sunny day after 2-3 holes it turned into 40-50 mph wind with Sideways rain.. I had only been golfing for about 6 months so I had 0 rain gear meanwhile the kid I was matched with has been golfing his whole life so he pulled out his rain pants and umbrella all the rain gear etc. I told the kid I I wasn’t playing in this shit I quit F off I’m not hitting as I was walking to my car to leave they came to get us to tell us the match was postponed and to stop play.. dumped the water out my shoes dried my shirt on the hand drier and finished the match and season ended up really enjoying it and glad I didn’t quit!!
I’m not walking off the course until the round is over or they blow the horn. I suck at golf but the only way to get better is to keep playing why quit if you’re not doing good just keep trying and eventually you’ll do pretty good every time.

I wanted to however I have not
I did walked off the golf course because I have bad partner in competition and he is as bad as you get 🫣 You become his babysitter

If I’m having a bad day and it’s incredibly slow play at my home course I’ll just dip out lol
Buddy 5 putted 13th hole state am qualifier, shit his pants on the next tee, walked to the clubhouse sat at the bar and ordered a beer.

when i was 12 i left the course on hole 14 because my driver head snapped off and i got a 17 on that hole
Injury and weather is about the only things that can force me off the course early

That concerns me

Who would pay to play golf and then walk off? That's ridiculous. Even if you're playing bad it's still a nice getaway from your everyday life
I’ve never walked off the course but I have sat out a hole or two while I got my mental game back together, then finished strong

Hell yes I have!
I stopped taking my score once.
I would want to know how many people have run out of golf balls in the middle of a round?
Don’t walk off just drink another beer
I have but only at my home course lol
No, but because of how bad the people were infront or wirh me
I mean if I paid greens fees, I’m playing! Only left the e course twice in my life. Once due to terrible weather, once due to injury.
I left after 1 hole, took 45 minutes to finish it was so backed up
Idc how much I’m paying if I have a bad day or not we finishing this round and getting fucked up 😂

Personally if I paid for 18 holes, I’m playing all 18 no matter if I shoot a 200
Golf costs too much money for me to just leave early lol. I guess if I had a membership I could see myself doing it
A few and it would be more if I didn't ride with someone
Yes I have
Yes and I’ve also left due to slow pace. Like 6 hour round slow
I've definitely said I'm walking off a dozen times. But i went the distance every time.
I’ve done it multiple times. My time is too valuable to shoot in the high 70’s to low 80’s.
Multiple times or atleast after 9holes when I was supposed to play 18
I just think I'm keeping my cost per stroke low

I do it every other day on the high school golf team
Does it count if you are skipping work and decide to no longer skip work?
This guys math gave me a brain aneurism
They probably run out of balls 😂😂😂😂

Walking off is better than breaking a club
Never walked off the course but I have taken breaks for a hole or teo
Yes
Lol I’ve said I was going to several time, but then flushed a shot dead center on the face pin high and thought to myself “I love golf” 😂
Why wouldn't he just say about 9 people out of 100 ?…
Yes.
No. I never do anything in my spare time that will piss me off. It's not my living so it's not that important.
I paid. I'm finishing.
I've never walked off but I rode the rest of the way in the cart, chipping, putting, and getting drunk.
