TOP-DOWN! Although I've discovered and developed a better athlete action, where you end up on the lead side but your not necessarily going directly there as the arms drop. The lead side is actually secondary or really the feel and result of the REAL action.
been working on my takeaway a lot and now working more on my downswing … lowering the arms feels like i am going to chunk it
Watch Davis love from his prime. He did not coil. He raised his arms and then he lowered his arms so far. The lowering of the arms is what gets the club back to the ball not side tilt and not sliding through the ball. The club has to be lowered down in front of the body back behind the ball. It really feels more like swinging a sledgehammer straight down . The best advice I ever give myself is when I completely abandoned the club working across my body or around my body at all. It simply goes back as a result of me turning as quickly as I possibly can The club is then lifted up over my head on plane and then thrown back down on plane as low as I can get it to the ground before starting to turn back to the ball there's actually very little body speed required. The longer you can delay opening the more it hits more of a draw. If you want to hit more of a straight fade you can throw the club further out in front of the body more on the line and turn a little sooner.
Seems like the more I learn about the golf swing the worse I get lol😂
I think for me anyway the key to this is to NOT open the shoulders while trying to do this. I worked so hard on trying to lower the club and it would look great in slow motion. The moment I would speed it up to hit balls forget it. Until I noticed my shoulders were opening right away too. Now I'm working on lowering the arms but keeping my shoulders closed. Game changer for leverage and power.
I don’t see how this could be helpful for anyone lol the only people who can follow what you’re saying don’t need the assistance
Nothing is faster than just letting that elbow drop. Let gravity do the work anything else is slow.
