Ever since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought Wrexham AFC in 2020, soccer fans have fallen in love with the fifth-tier club. This season, viewership for the second round of the FA Cup on ESPN was up 858% percent over last year, and that’s largely thanks to Wrexham, whose popularity has exploded since the docuseries “Welcome to Wrexham” debuted in August 2022.

  1. Actually nobody is talking about it. It happened before, some celebs bought a club in a lower tier league and after a year it's forgotten

  2. Clarification: PSG and Real Madrid didn't participate in the FA Cup, but did play league matches on the same weekend as Wrexham's tournament appearance — and more viewers tuned in to see Wrexham!

  3. Which sport is coccer? I only know about the football that´s actually played with our feet and was invented way before NFL

  4. The thing is wrexham pulled the entire 5th tier or league (I'm a newbie) into the spotlight. I didn't know wrexham or their league or anything really cause I'm a South African rugby guy but now damn I'm talking soccer at work to pro's.

  5. Thats wrong, they did the Disney deal before they brought Wrexham from what I found? Lol PSG and Real 🤣🤣
