  1. Nobody has ever explained the reason for this deal other than it removes the legal issues and brings the players under one tour. Remember before LIV that already existed. It would appear the LIV players are not interested in re-joining the Tour as they play less and make more money than before.
Ultimately a combined Tours revenue (and thus prize funds) is based on two main pillars 1) Sponsors of events 2) TV right revenue. Given the reluctance of Sponsors to fund the Elevated events and TV rights is directly related to viewer numbers it’s unclear where the additional money is coming from? The answer seems to be PIF, but my experience is rich people and organisations didn’t get rich by throwing money down a bottomless pit. Ask PIF how many billion they have they sunk into LIV with no light at the end of the tunnel to be self-financing.
Ultimately this deal has to stand on its financials, and so far, that’s a mystery. To produce and get a framework agreement approved that question needs to be answered.

  2. I don’t think the merger will happen. PGA tour better off with Tiger running the tour. He can get all the money they need from Rain Group.

  3. As a European, it is so sad, and unbelievable, to see the hatred of so many US golf fans towards the PGA Tour. Also sad to see so many of the 48 LIV multimillionaires doubling down against the golfing pyramid and the PGA Tour that made them. Greed just shot a 58 as integrity missed the cut.

  4. The pundits seem sticking to the PGAT driven agenda. Exactly how so they think the PGAT survives without the PIF infusion of cash? If they don’t reach agreement, more top players will be signed by LiV and the PGAT will be I. A downward spiral. The corrupt golf media can spin it all they want, but inh opinion, that’s the harsh reality.

  5. Dustin said it pretty clear, "if they don't allow us to get world ranking points soon, we'll get to the point where we won't care anymore." That was already way back, so the PGA can keep whatever they doing. Players on 54 are comfortable in a position already like if they let them in is Ok. and if not it's also Ok. Just gotta watch their interviews to realize about that. This is a professional sport, LIVers are getting treated with respect as real pros money-wise, and even some already started foundations of their own and things like that. There's lots 54 is doing to promote the game with kids and such. As of now they seem to be just fine and it's a more entertaining league, I reckon. Moreover, some of them still can play in major tourneys anyway, so…

  6. Is it just me or do most of the LIV guys seem like A Holes and most of the PGA Tour guys seem like super chill and just NICE PEOPLE?????

  7. Too much money in golf is causing a big problem. Ironical situation to be sure, because greed and power battle comes to the fore! Very bad for world golf!

  8. LUV LIV !!!! I would not want to go back to boring snore fest golf !! Cry baby Mcllroy and all the other have fun. The best players in the world are at LIV !! Bedminster today !! Trump 2024 !!!!!!

  9. Yeah, the structure doesn’t work for me for some reason. I thought they were gonna combine the tours back into one bring all those name players back and play one tour I just can’t watch live off the shorts. The team thing means nothing to me. It’s not gonna work I can’t watch it. You can bring top great announcers put them on Premium golf courses for me to root for some random team that I’ve never heard of impossible

  10. The guys who attended the meeting, probably have nothing to worry about as they just continue the way they have. They get to play 4 rounds of golf over 4 days. They do this 20-30 weeks per year, or according to their schedule and what they want to participate in or not. They get paid, handsomely for the most part over the course of the year.
Nothing really changes. The guys at the top really don’t care for the whole of the group.
