Talking about past underrated players, I used to love watching Tomas Rosicky. Didn’t get talked about enough IMO.
I thought I was the only one who supported Arsenal because they loved the colour red. I'm from Leeds but didn't want to support them, growing up in the 70s and 80s because of their racist background. I also didn't want to support any teams up north so I looked at teams in the south, loved red and the Arsenal shirt so went for them.
People would have respected Ozil's stance on the Uighurs if it wasn't for the inconvenient fact his BFF Erdogan is a authoritarian tyrant. Just ask the Kurds. Hard to know whether he was even genuine or if it wasn't just another chapter in his social media war against the club.
Please Athletic commission a series where James watches games with different arsenal fan groups around the world – that sounds incredible!
I stopped watching the likes of AFTV due to the emotional reactions we were getting, I refuse to make snap decisions anymore because emotions will always mean mouth open before engaging brain. I'm giving my age away there but Stop Step back and think.
Big fan of the Arsecast and the Arsenal Vision podcast but really loving these solo vids – hope they stay a regular thing!

Love your Arsenal origins story, I also had no idea about Arsenal as a kid. Just picked them on the whim cos they were top of the alphabetical order and Arsenal sounded cool.

You called for LFC to come back near the top. Watching them against Chelsea yesterday, not generating offense, then pulling an angry Sala in 2nd half, made me wonder what the heck is going on. I think people call for Liverpool because of Klopp's dominance, but they are waning. I see ManU above them at the end of the season.
Really wish we kept Sagna for longer. Could've used him at CB.

Great to watch this. My most underrated player I've watched is Kevin Richardson and one thing I would change in the last 10 years would be to tell Granit not to needlessly run into TAA last season at Anfield.
Love your take on not taking football to seriously. I really struggle with that and sometimes feel like mood revolves around an arsenal result.

James – excellent Q&A – I think Ray Parlour was very underrated but a pivotal squad member who scored so many vital goals and always gave his all.

Well, Timber is out for months at least. Got one out of him before injury, the Arsenal way I guess.
Where can I ask questions of him to answer? I got loads of questions pertaining to Arsene Wenger's name being similar to Arsenal.

Another problem the club will probably see with going to places like africa and India vs asia and america is the relative infrastructure deficiencies of the former vs the latter. America and Asia have facilities and stadiums suited for a preseason trip and games while the latter two probably aren’t as suited for a preseason trip.
Not sure if you answered this already, James, but how did you and Arseblog meet and how did you end up working together? A mate recommended me checking out the Arseblog site around 10 years ago I think, and listening to the podcast with you and Andrew is something I look forward to every time. I'm planning to catch a game at the Emirates this season coming over from Norway, hopefully I can say hi to you if I see you there! 🙂

On the last question, I started listening to the Arsecast more when we were doing really shit. Yours and Andrew's Arsecast extra couldn't come soon enough after a loss, it was my therapy. Then I signed up to the patreon and now listen to everything out of joy for what you guys do and not due to the need of a cheap therapist lol
