Russini: “In the wake of an extensive in-person meeting between Aaron Rodgers & New York Jets brass, including owner Woody Johnson, there’s optimism in the Jets’ organization that they are on the brink of landing the future Hall of Fame QB, sources close to the situation tell ESPN.
As the Jets internally are working under an optimism that this will happen, the Jets and the Packers remain engaged in conversations about compensation and contract, sources said. Those conversation already started before the meeting.And so now, we wait to see if the Jets can close a deal to bring a future Hall of Famer from Green Bay to New York.”

The New York Jets are chasing a washed up QB who hasn’t made a strong presence in the post season in 10yrs with the exception of prob 2021, and still choked. When he does absolutely nothing with the Jets, they’ll blame the offensive lineman, receivers, running game, all coaches, hell… the whole team/franchise will be thrown under the bus BY HIM AND HIS MGT. The jets need to be leveraging a potential interest in Lamar into dramatically bringing down the compensation cost of Rodgers. Since we ultimately hold all the power cards in both cases. The fact that won't happen should highlight just how much nothing has really changed with how poorly this team is actually run at it's core. We luck into ONE great draft and suddenly people forget WHO we actually are and have consistently been for decades now. Woody needs to go to have any real chance of turning that around.
I'm a jets fan but I would never give up draft cap for a QB is almost my age, i don't care if you are a 4 time MVP dude is 40 year old. I would work on my O-line.
