In the early years, the Minnesota Vikings were like many new franchises of the time: dysfunctional, bad at football, and often intoxicated. And then a former NBA champion came back home to Minnesota and changed the identity of this franchise forever.

This is the first episode of Dorktown’s seven-part docuseries, The History of the Minnesota Vikings.

    Episode 2 (1970-1974) – Tuesday, August 8th
    Episode 3 (1974-1979) – Tuesday, August 15th
    Episode 4 (1980s) – Tuesday, August 22nd
    Episode 5 (1990s) – Tuesday, August 29th

  2. I would watch the entire 300 hours it would take to watch a series like this for every NFL team. And love every minute of it.

  3. As a Detroiter, it brings me great pain to say that although the Lions suck, I am profoundly happy when they do win.

Somehow, even before I was aware of the stats, I knew that the Lions were awful. Just pure garbage. I hope this channel does take a deeper look at why they're the worst team ever one day, I'd really love to understand more, because I don't know shit about football. I'm just here to listen to Jon narrate.

  4. You guys do such an amazing job at telling a story I loved the falcons and I'm sure I'll love this one too. It'd be awesome to see you do every NFL team. Just to be able to learn about the history and be engulfed in the story.

  5. I love how Luke Braun described the lead up to the fourth superbowl in his documentary series on the Vikings (which was inspired by the dorktown falcons series). He too puts it as an NFL vs AFL spectacle, but he then goes a different route.

Luke describes it as the vikings being part of someone elses story, it was meant to be that the chiefs won. The jets win was seen as a fluke, the colts werent nearly as strong as the vikings a year later. This wasn’t about us, about the men from Minnesota. It was about the AFL proving itself one last time. The vikings where simply spectators to that.

  6. I’m intrigued by what you could do with a history of either the Milwaukee Brewers or the Milwaukee Bucks, my hometown teams. I think the Packers have had too much success through the years to be worthy of one of your documentaries.

  7. I guess the only other team I would want another series on is the LA Clippers. There’s so many stories you could tell about that team, one of the most cursed franchises in all of sports.

  8. Bengals next year? The Burrow Era is almost making me forget the absolute shitshow we've been 🙂

  9. Tearfully, silently thanked the universe for the lives of two humans that had I never heard of before – that's Dorktown for ya.

  10. In college idk why but we had a Tarkenton challenge. It consisted of lining up every bong in the house and had to rip them all in succession

  11. Jon and Alex do it again. Huge CFL fan, (Stamps for me but my extended family are all Bombers) so I can attest to Bud Grant's legendary status up here. The man is revered. rip.

  12. As a colts fan, the same message plays across my mind as I had during the past Vikings game ending…this team and IU football has made me numb inside

  13. Surely this documentary about the Vikings won't take any random potshots at my New York Jets. That would be ridiculous

  14. Loved this, cannot wait for the rest of the episodes. These Dorktown docs are just the best, thanks for the brief jets segment Jon 😂

  15. Hey Jon, a employee of yours tried to make a video with a ton of lies about the USWNT. Nate The Lawyer has been covering the lies of the USWNT for years and he just crapped on your channels new video about the USWNT. It's Pretty Good…

  16. Thanks Tom Brady for being really good and the 2000's Lion being really bad. We are only 2nd worse.
