  1. I never followed his career. I played CB in school and I think this guy might be the best at it ever. I always thought Prime was #1 but Deon wasn't as complete as this guy appears to be.

  2. People underestimate how great of a open tackler he was! Well deserved to be first go round hall of famer!

  3. “A lot of guys are content with just being great, but Darrelle wanted to be the best. One day we’re going to sit down and say that this was the best Jet in the history of the New York Jet franchise, I truly believe that. And i also think we’re going to see him in Canton one day”

    – Rex Ryan on Darrelle Revis in 2011

  4. last corner in the nfl that actually turned his head around and played the ball, you just do not see corners do that anymore

  5. Revis' numbers aren't eye popping and to people who just look at the numbers he is just a good corner not a legendary one. The truth is he took teams best receiver out of the game and they wouldn't even throw to his side. That's true greatness

  6. WOW some of this footage looks so old, but I swear it feels like I just witnessed this yesterday. Time flys man

  7. Revis 2009 has to be the best year of a corner back EVER…. He didn't have to intercept the ball, he just broke every pass up that went his way. After that year, QBs never threw his way

  8. People don't understand, back in 09, '10 he WAS the Jets defense, especially in Rex's system. He would follow the other teams number 1 and virtual eliminate them from the game and rex would roll the rest of the coverage to other receivers while sending the house on a blitz. It was crude but effective ONLY with a player like Revis. Once he was gone, Rex's defense also went with him. It was truly a treat watching Revis eliminate so many big names from being effective week after week: Moss, Steve Smith, Andre Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, Terrell Owens…the lists goes on. Stats don't tell the whole story. Teams just stopped throwing to his side which cuts the field and a QB's options for the rest of the game.

  9. When he showed he could 🔒 🆙 Randy Moss & Megatron & TO etc. 🥶 🥶

  10. ….taking nothing away from Revis; one of the best corners to ever play. But some of these were awful passes by the QB.

  11. Revis Was Really A Complete Defender, He was a great tackler just as well as he was at covering 💯

  12. Personally Ty Law is a better corner but objectively Revis was a great corner. Even though Randy Moss torched him lol Randy torched everyone.

  13. Pats fan always loved Revis. It’s nuts to me they had so much faith in him as a young player to just go 1 on 1 with Moss. He was that good

  14. Corner is one of the most confusing postions to accurately judge someones career on. Because most times you look at stats to reflect someone's impact and talent/HOF status.

But for a corner like Revis Or Richard Sherman? The issue became that QB's literally stopped throwing the ball thier way. And so most the time they dont have the interceptions, Pass defenses, FF, and such. Because they were so good at thier jobs that a QB would avoid them at all costs. In Sherman's case Aaron Rodgers said he wasn't even going to think about throwing it at anyone Richard was covering and I assume many said the same thing about Revis.

He is a TRUE shutdown corner 😊
