60 year fan of The Habs. Patrice Bergeron's leaving of The Big Bads reminds me of Ken Dryden's retirement. He probably knew it was his last year, and similarly performed at his best. I hope he took notes and writes a book. I'd love to hear his take on a legendary team, even if they didn't win the prize as often. Always a dangerous team with players I hated. I'd love to learn why I should more embrace them…..not 🙂 A universal hockey respect that very, very few players command. Howe, Beliveau, is where I place him.
Such a great summer episode. Thanks cj and Julian. 😊
'Salary cap kyle' strikes again.
Thanks for the summer show guys!
Morgan Geekie might be the steal of the offseason. Never thought Seattle would let him walk and absolutely stoked he's a Bruin. Bruins have the best tandem in the league and a top-5 defense with 2 Norris contenders anchoring it. Get ready for Islanders hockey to perfection this season. Stifling defense with a very grinding yet opportunistic offense.
Now the Sharks just need a Norris season from Vlasic and MVP from Couture and they are back in business.
The geriatric 4
Thanks for the summer show guys, looking forward to the next one!
Yay so exciting. Just what I needed. Miss the pod!
Please use a lavalier microphone, chris voice goes away if he turns the head and speaks. This would not happen with a lav mic. Get in touch if you need one.
i don't know any north american person, sadly, but great for the Penguins' fans to have something to be excited about.
thanks for the episode 👍🏻
That fly on Chris was wild, he wasn’t giving up!
Tbh karlsson is a aging d who had 1 good year in the past 4
Hockey media is one of the worst out there… Even last season with the season he had, very few had much positive to say about EK65… Now he goes to Crosby and the Penguins and he’s the goat again… fans and media really hated that he played om San Jose for some reason and i wonder why? The last couple of days people have been more positive about EK65 then his whole teneur in San Jose…
All the media and this dude thinking karlsson is gonna take letang top defensive pair spot is so laughable lol. Letang is the better player in his own zone. Karlsson is gonna get the top PowerPlay not the top D pair 🤡
Love the summer episode just missing the shades cj. I think the sdpn ahould chip in and buy you a new mic for this next season. The tin can sound needs to be fixed.
If you do a list of contender for the cup, Pittsburgh gets nowhere near the top 10 guys cmon.
finally a show you guys shouldnt give us so much content then neglect us for 3 weeks lmao
on Bergeron 32:00 as a sports guy myself going out with a bang is a nice thing. He probably wants to go out content that they did well.
The Latvia Johnson Show 🙂
47:00 did his mic go out or is my machine going to the crapper
Funny that even with Hoffman and Pitlick gone, the Habs still have too many forwards and only Slaf and RHP are waivers exempt. Going to be chaos.
What’s the main difference in this core four? 9 combined cups to 0. I’ll take the old guys lol
Jack Eichel got moved with a 10M cap hit..
This was a gift! The best podcast I have on my feed!
If nylander is considered a "core" player in Toronto then there is no reason guentzle shouldn't be mentioned in the same regard
I absolutely despise the term "Core 4" come up with cool nicknames that haven't been used. Yankees had the Core 4. The Penguins think it's 2017.
These big contracts are bad for the league and we’ve really been seeing it. It handcuffs teams and makes it harder to build a strong team or move players out. I think what’s best for the league is 3-4 year max contracts that max out around 8 mil a year. Players have to prove themselves to keep getting the big money but those same players can also go somewhere else if it’s not working out where they are. And teams gain trade flexibility and cap space
Pittsburgh are the villa Columbo of the NHL
Yeah there is more than 4. Also, if it only was 4, the 4 cost less and have won more. These are generational talents….all of them….with 9 rings. Not just a few regular season stats.
Krejci won't be retiring this summer, he wants to play on WC in Prague next year. More likely he will go back to play in Czech league.
How much Penguins load management will we have to hear about this year? Not sure this team will make the playoffs unless some other teams have injury plagues. Dubas is a great GM to watch though. He's def not boring us to death.
Also, prediction. Kyle Dubas will be fist major league sports GM to implement AI Assistant GM position. Coming 2024-25.
