You have requested it, and I finally delivered. The Wilson Zip golf ball is here. I have high expectations after having so many people praise this ball. Let’s find out if these numbers hold true!

Another great review on a ball I have never seen here in Thailand.
Great review I'll have to give them a try..also hope in your area are doing ok after the Hurricane .
I have played these and was very pleased!
Does this mean the Ultra Distance 500 is next?!?!?!
How does this compare to a vice golf ball?
I use this ball a lot. For the majority of my golf season here in Upstate NY I play persimmon woods and old blades. The high launch is perfect for those old clubs because they so much like the old balata's minus the greenside bite but they also don't "smile" at you when you thin one. Here at my local Walmart last year though I bought two (four dozen) at $19.96 each. Love this ball.
I'm sold on the Zip golf balls. I have used the Bridgestone e6, Titleist TruFeel, and Srixon Soft Feel, and the Wilson Zip is by far my favorite ball. I'm a high handicapper with an 85mph swing speed.
Great review, Nic! My only hesitation is with the shots around the green…..if I want something that’s going to “bite” and not roll past the hole every time, this ball can’t be trusted. I love the distance & forgiveness stats, but I believe the key to lower scores is control around the green. Wouldn’t it be something if a ball could deliver these numbers AND check up nicely, have amazing durability, and be $30 for two dozen! 😮
Yeah! I'm glad you reviewed this for me. I knew you would love this golf ball. Everyone overlooks Wilson Golf, especially the lower end stuff, but this is a fantastic ball. Your results were exactly the same as mine when I started playing it. I gained 5-7 yards on my irons. I didn't see really any gain on the driver but It is a very forgiving ball and if you like a soft feel on the putter, this is the best feeling ball, bar none. The only knock is the roll out on the green. I've played them for a while and that, is true. I tend to play bump and run so not a big issue for me. Cost to quality, this and the Cut Red are at the top.
I been playing golf for 50 years I’m 68 have a swing speed 100 with driver I’m a 3 handy cap I’m only writing this review because I fell for this review this ball was 30 yards short of the call away etc solf this ball is junk it is not forgiving
Thits has been my go to ball for years. I will try other balls from time to time but always come back to the zip. I did the Maxfil Straightfl for about six mnths until I realized a putting issue with the dimple pattern. The Zip launches a mile high for me. No player in my golf league gets tha ball higher than mine. Great value for around a buck a ball.
After hitting this ball for a few weeks then hitting a Chromesoft…yikes! The Chromesoft feels like an orange TopFlite from '88
I love this golf ball very playable and I got two dozens delivered off Amazon $22.. keep up the great work enjoy watching your videos
Which do you prefer, the Wilson Zip or Cut Red??
Before I watched this video, I watched your Wilson 50 video. I won a dozen Wilson 50s at a tournament about 3 years ago and recently found them in my garage so decided to play them. The 50s I won have the W/s logo and did not match your comments, so I wonder if these may be the predecessor to the current Zip. I found these balls to be very soft off my putter and I did get adequate distance and spin compared to my normal ball which is Oncore Vero 2. I ordered the Zip balls based on this review. If they are actually better than the older 50s that I have, I will be elated. I am a slow swing speed player, age 75 and my current GHIN is 13.8, from the senior tees at most courses I will score in the high 70s to low 80s.
Went on a little Youtube/amazon shopping rabbit hole, and somehow have come across your channel searching for Wilson Zip reviews. Love the videos that you put out, and can see the effort that has gone into making them; you've got yourself a sub in me! Keep it up dude!
On sale at Walmart for $22 for the double dozen.
I have been using the zip ball for about a month an for the money they are great if you loose it no big deal but I do like playing them
Thank you again for recommending this amazing ball!
I picked up 4 dozen. My take so far: Driver – no difference from any other golf ball. Feels a bit hard but distance is fine. Approach shots: No difference in feel compared to most two piece balls. Seems to carry a bit further which would indicate that it spins less but I have had no problem holding greens. Wedges around the green: This is where the ball shines. Can feel the softness and the ball is more workable than most two piece balls. Putting: Not my favorite. Must practice because the ball responds aggressively off the putter. Rolls true but either you are going to leave it long or short (for fear of leaving it long) until you get used to the ball. Durability: Fair. No major issues but a bit of scuffing. Not as durable as I had hoped. I picked them up for under $20 for two dozen so they are keepers. At their regular price of about $29 for two dozen, I am not sure.
Zip has been my ball for a while now. Great overall ball. Love it
They must’ve raised the price on these. I went to 2 Walmarts and they were 29.97 for a dozen. Anybody else have the same experience?
I bought some of these and cut reds
They both felt good but the cut red split in two with a hybrid
So I think maybe you should stay away from them
I have been playing this ball as my "crap ball" for years. My swing speed is around 118-120 and I loose nothing with this golf ball. The reason I call it my "crap ball" is I have a rule, as soon as I loose 2 premium balls during a round, the zip comes out. I tested this ball next to the pro v, tp5, and maxfli tour. My clubs, I play the sim2 with an aldila tour green 65tx, irons are srixon zx7, nippon modus tour 130x. So for slow or fast swingers this ball seems to do what you need it To.
Great review. I switch from Callaway Supersoft to this ball and have never looked back. This ball performs better and is forgiving for your miss hits and wallet. Golf's best 2 piece ball IMO.
The Wilson Zip ball has replaced every other ball in my bag, and in my practice net in the back yard. Ive had to slow my swing down with all my clubs but hitting better, longer shots with them, I keep 12 doz on hand just in case,,,lol
Great review, I've been using this golf ball since the beginning of this year and it's really working well for me compared to my previous ball of choice (Bridgestone e12) I'm also getting very good results with the Srixon Soft Feel. It would be great if you could publish a video on that one. Keep up with the great job!
Currently $12 at Walmart for 24 pack.
Would this and the cut red also be too soft for a fast swing? Driver carry average around 275
This is my "practice" ball nearly every day at the local 9 hole course. Very good ball almost looks like a Titleist AVX . My gamer for the better 18 hole course is considered my "gamer" ball is the Wilson Staff Triad in yellow, another excellent ball with a little more stopping power.
These are on sale today 7-12-23 on Amazon Prime deal. $24.39 per 24 pack! I'm set for the summer!
Great Ball !!! I used it on a difficult course, with lots of uphill shots. Used Zip uphill and Titleist Velosity downhill and into the wind (as per your Velocity review). Shot my best score by 3. THANK YOU !!!!
I've been playing golf for over 45 years, and I was a nine HCP in my younger days. This ball is not necessarily a ball for beginners. For a low compression ball, with a soft feel, it is a fine ball. As for checking up, you do need to play it a bit shorter, and let it roll a bit. My 40 year old Pings do a good job with both the Zip and the Elite 50.
Hey Nick, I finally got some of these "ZIP" balls. Took them out to the golf course today and was thoroughly impressed! Right off the bat my first drive was straight and actually surpassed 200 yards! I had 5 drives today that went 200+ yards! I had only gotten a few to date since spring here. Most go about 180 yards. I gained 20-40 yards for sure with this ball. One drive went 237yds. Love the feel of contact too. I'm so glad I came across this review of yours because this is now my ball to play. Love it! Thanks. 🙂 P.S. I hit one drive way out on the toe and thought oh boy that's not gonna be good. It went straight and far, couldn't believe it!
