Recruiting Topic: Many prospects returned to campus for Saturday’s cookout which provided yet another opportunity for the commits to get closer with one another as well as the coaching staff. While Lagway had already taken eight visits to Gainesville, the trip allowed the Willis (Tx.) native to meet some of the new commits that he had not yet met.

“”Just getting to meet some of the commits for the first time,” Lagway told 247Sports. “Actually meeting with some of them. There is some great energy, great connections. I am just excited about the team building.”

That was the general consensus from most attendees following the event, including one of the 2025 prospects who made the trip, four-star Hylton Stubbs. Unlike many of the other visits many of these recruits will take, the “Grille in the Ville” event was laid back and allowed the high school athletes an opportunity to soak everything in and simply enjoy the trip.

“It was all fun. I had a great time,” Stubbs said. “We did a scavenger hunt, trivia games, ate great food and had an awesome icee. It was a fun time at Florida today…It was more seeing everyone have fun, laughing and joking. It showed me that everything is not so serious all the time.”
