  1. why don't they do something like the Oscars? where they have the main awards on the show and they announce the other winners during the day. oscars runs for 3hrs

  2. Talk about Queensland…Im a Victorian who lives in Queensland. Last Sunday there wasnt any AFL games on TV..In fact unless its a Queensland team they dont have it on tv. They have old movies, pawn stars or re runs of other shows…until they broadcast AFL they wont get a true national game!

  3. Having the afl on a Sunday is the worst idea I’ve ever heard. There’s absolutely no way the entire nation get a holiday the next day 😂. As a Victorian living in north QLD I can assure you that won’t happen. If you victorians really want to grow it to a national game then think about other places then the bottom states ✌🏻

  4. It would be great to be able to watch on tv and have the option to sync a radio's call with the play through the tv.

  5. Hey lads, love your work. What really grinds my gears re: televised footy is when a goal is kicked in the first 30 secs … boom … ad. My immersion is immediately broken. I think a rule should be made which prohibits ads being shown within 5 minutes of the ball being bounced at the start of each quarter. once a goal is kicked go ahead play that AAMI ad.
Also if a game is on 7 but im watching it on kayo and a goal is kicked we have to wait until the 7 commentators are back from commercials, I would love to see some stats displayed or a couple more replays . all the best.

  6. people watch state of origin because not much else on Wednesday night LOL mostl people who watch AFL Gf are having BBQ soo could be 10-50 people watching one tv.

  7. As much anyone can hate Eddie's Mug and his voice and all the rest. He has been a monument to the game and has never chose Collingwood over the game itself he has just been very astute in making sure they maximise their standing while moving the game forward. I'm from WA and support Freo and have absolutely nothing bad to say about Ed ❤

  8. Imagine being able to see a whole ground view on an additional kayo chennal. You don't have to zoom in or anything. Would be good to have running on a 2nd screen so you can see backplay.

  9. Forget the shorts Ed
Get the jumpers right like you said
Dunno why that’s soo hard particularly when there is tradition

  10. I hate Eddie for removing Heritage Round. Was the best thing in the home and away season. Beloved by everyone and great for the clubs in earning revenue.

  11. Don’t turn AFL into a private school game…..spot on!!!!
    It’s destroyed Australian Rugby
    Keep pushing it!

  12. The constant flicking of the camera for a split second from Eddie back to Jimmy and vice versa makes this video wholly unwatchable… it’s a health hazard.

  13. Eddie is right about commentators talking through the crowd noise. When the Eagles won in the thriller, the crowd absolutely went off after the siren. But some lunatic behind the microphone talked a hundred words a minute straight over the top. Then the same happened to the Eagles song while on the ground in which the crowd sung along too. Followed by Eagles rock song. I know it was after the game but I was staggered they didn't let the crowd noise and celebration become a key part of the broadcast. When a team has only won 1 game and getting thumped by 150 points, you don't need to be a brainiac to know that the crowd noise and enjoyment will be massive. Well said Eddie.

  14. Bartel is right about getting Hodgey do the analysis at the breaks. But I don't think it necessarily has to be replays with players circled… You can still make a point at times with a blank screen of a footy oval where you show the direction of ball movement. How other team is putting players back. Why sides are going backwards and sideways…

  15. I reckon the AFL museum should be taken around Australia too. Most people outside in Victoria will never go to Melbourne, yet all the AFL teams contribute to the cost of the exhibition at the MCG. It needs to be taken around Australia each year and shown around Australia in museums.

  16. Eddie spot on about Coll vs Carlton. Coll should wear their mainly traditional white with black stripes and white shorts. Carlton all navy blue and shorts. Home and away looks superb. Same with Geelong. If in doubt they should always wear white shorts. Its ridiculous to have Bulldogs vs Cats and then Bullies wear white shorts. Also use coloured shorts. Easily Bullies could wear red even. Or Geelong just wear white again. Brisbane should be able to wear dark blue or maroon shorts, more often than not. Wearing white when they're playing a team with white on their jumper is plain stupid. If the AFL step in more often it will stop clashes and actually reduce teams having to always wear alternative strips.

  17. Essendon should go for red shorts and mainly red socks against Richmond. Perhaps the sash could be wider. Richmond may then be able to wear their traditional jumper too. Likewise Richmond could do the gold shorts and wider sash too. But Richmond should never wear a yellow jumper with white shorts. Why would Adelaide ever wear white shorts.

  18. Ed talking 2000’s again about Friday night football and how pies were the saviour 🙄 I remember one year in the early nineties North played more Friday nights than day games since NM struck the 10 year deal ‘87-96 with the MCC! They were known as the night time specialists afterall when clubs like Collingwood wouldn’t have a bar of Friday nights… North played mostly lowly or interstate clubs on Fridays, now its the marquee match of the weekend… quit the typical rhetoric Ed… its becoming draining

  19. so after the port power concussion incident. which is the second time dodgy decisions come from the port doctor and their handling of match day concussions in recent times. does the afl have to put neutral drs at every game to judge on possible concussion incidents. cant have teams cheating.

  20. The Logies have no relevance to football. Who cares if people in the entertainment industry prefer it is at night?

Grand Final Day is an event, not just another night game. We saw how soulless it was during Covid. Surely we’ve seen enough.

  21. There are hundreds of thousands of AFL supporters and members that rarely get to attend a live game. When we do get that opportunity we are treated to a completely different game. I am with you Eddie, broaden the on camera view, bring in the sounds of the physical clashes, Bring the TV view closer to the 'at the ground view'. Inclusion is a term pushed by the AFL, so make it a fact with TV coverage. I watch many games without audio due to the unnecessary comments made by commentators. AFL supporters understand the game better than most commentators give them credit for. Luke Hodge, Anthony Hudson, and Nathan Buckley are brilliant commentators that are rarely biased to a particular team.
    # Question for Jimmy and Eddie: What can be done to improve umpire consistency when applying rules?
It has become obvious this season that central umpires target a particular rule for a round. Then the following round that rule gets over looked.
