Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

Why is this not on H.I.T ? 😉
I have always had trouble with hitting hybrids for whatever reason. My first set has 4-6i as hybrids and if I can, I will hit the 7i instead.
I’d love to know what clubs those 77% of golfers are using
I would love to see a break 75 of the hybrids that would be a cool vid! Lets get this to 20K likes!!!
Interesting looking clubs. The old Alien Sand Wedge irons have a really wide and flat sole like that SW hybrid so the design is similar in performance, just don't need as much of a back swing to get out of a bunker or rough. Good review, especially for high handicap and older golfers.
Look like the 2008 Hi-Bore by Cleveland
You need that gold driver in the bag to go with them
If they were better built, I’d give ‘em a go. No trouble with adding driver woods and wedges. Having said that, they should offer 4 – 9 in hybrid and then we add what we want.
Have James Robinson try them out !! Or do a full round !
Love the head covers! Saw Bryson used a new “self correcting” driver this weekend. Can’t wait to see you review that club.
You should try Adams IdeaTech v4 Hybrid Irons set they are similar to these but 7 to SW are more like original Irons
I've actually used a set of these probably 15 yrs ago. Crazy how easy they are to hit!
I think Cleveland has nailed the style with the Launcher Halo irons, they are more progressively shaped through the set so you get closer to a traditional iron with shorter clubs moving into more hybrid shape for the longer clubs. I'd like to see you use those vs using those flashy cheapies😂
Pretty cool review, would like to see a comparison with Cleveland hybrid set. Regarding the traditional looks, I played Cleveland XLS tour driver and absolutely loved it. Honestly wished I still had it and would love to see someone make a modern version of that design.
Love this sort of content. Old school Rick Shiels!
what about the old Cleveland Launcher sets?
Adams had an all hybrid set twenty some years ago
Nothing new. What happened to the slazenger big e-z
6:22 I can shank that club. 😅
Please Please Pleas .. break 75 episode with these!
One of my first thoughts on this vid is that Rick should do a break 75 with these clubs.
Can you break 65 with them? 👀
These are my favourite vids by far
That Facebook poll results makes total sense, as no one on Facebook is under 50 years old
I started playing golf 3 years ago at age 57. The first clubs I ever hit consistently were hybrids. If I hadn’t had them, I would have probably given up on the game. But, I developed a love for the game and took a few lessons and carry 3 hybrids still but love the feel of my irons and wedges. I play with what works. I honestly don't care who makes fun of me. Especially if I beat them…
There's a point to be made that appearance of the club is arguably the most important factor when selecting clubs for yourself. The reasoning is that if you like the way your clubs look and the way they look at address that just gives added confidence thats important in shot making ability. Conversely if you don't like the way your clubs look that can be just some unnecessary demoralization when it comes to standing over the ball no matter how well you could hit it. No one needs any bit of confidence reduced even if they "knew" they couldn't hit a club badly no matter how ugly it is.
I have a set of Cleveland full hybrid set,15 years old maybe bought second hand…but it is senior shaft so a bit wobbly… hehe. I've played one full round with them and it was OK…. but not good. But i'll be older and will change grip and use them when 65y old… hehe, btw they are no backspin clubs but rather pitch and run
A guy in my group uses a bag full of hybrids
Need to try the Ram laser Hybrid set! £199 for 4-SW
ive been watching your videos for years rick , love them , but the using the sand hybrid when the ball was sat down in some "juicy grass" and you hit it across the green , i say thats more you than the club , ive seen you do the exact same thing with your own fitted clubs lol 🤦♂️ plenty of times !!
Your not only one with hybrid clubs, played with a guy a couple of weeks ago who had a full set including a sand wedge.😂
Problem is….hybrids do NOT work for every situation….esp in the deep rough…or any kind of bumpy terrain.. Irons are shot downwards with compression. Hybrids do not shoot that way. It's just a plain waste of money to buy a full set of hybrids to replace irons. They're really essentially a fairway club.
Haven’t similar concepts been around for a while? I’m sure about 20yrs ago one of my buddies said his father played a set of all hybrids…except the nomenclature was different and the most lofted club was a 19 wood 😂
I wish I hade 20000 YouTube accounts…I really would like to see u play break 75 on this clubs 😂
I bought a full set of majek hybrids off Amazon and I love them ! Not the wedges though. I think it would take a lot of practice to get used to the wedges.
Please do a full 18 holes with these 😂
would love to see a break 75 with those clubs in your bag
Rick should actually have this SW in his bag! 😂😂
I have been playing a half set of eleven hybrids 3,5,7,and 9 with 3 wedges and at 60 years old I won't go back to irons as the hybrids are much easier to play.
Watch the price double!
Tour Edge did this a long time ago. They're called ironwoods. And they look much better than those lol.
