So, there’s this defender who created more goals and chances in the Championship last season than any other who had played across the backline.

Somebody whose 11 assists helped Middlesbrough reach the play-offs and someone Rob Edwards gave his senior debut to.

His name? Ryan Giles.

Ticking all the right boxes, and looking absolutely resplendent in our new away shirt (you’re welcome), the 23-year-old wing-back joins for an undisclosed fee from his boyhood club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

  1. Boro fans crying over this makes it even more sweeter… Ryan will fit in so well 💪🏻

  2. You guys will give it a good go in the Prem. Likely relegated by a mile with Derby’s 11 points potentially under threat but a good go nevertheless. Take inspiration from Blackpool’s 2010/2011 premier league season. Attacked every game. Hope you guys do well from a Brentford fan

  3. I hope Power Court has the same size pitch as Kenilworth Road. KR is almost square which is why we’ve always played good football. Weirdly our home record was not as good as our away record last season even though we had the smallest pitch in the Championship. We need to turn Kenilworth Road into a fortress this season. Is this chap as good at defending as he is at attacking? It’s not this season I worry about. I think we will be fine. It’s next season that I worry about more. Hopefully we can move into Power Court as a Premier League club. Whatever happens though Luton are in my blood.

  4. All the best gilesy we cant really fault you for wanting prem football. Good luck luton this season

  5. That's the shirt I want. I'm going to push back purchase of the home kit until later in the year. The white away kit (from 75-76) was always my favourite, possibly because it is our more traditional colours. Get mine ordered, but can I get it with black shorts???

  6. Love the fact that Luton are shopping at the quality end of Championship-proven players. Hungry players with a point to prove, who want to play in the EPL, WITH Luton.

  7. Good acquisition. Look forward to seeing him play. Now, for a goalie. Desperately need a good one, with proven EPL experience. Pity Man United pulled the plug on their back up keeper.

What about Man City’s back up keeper? He looked pretty good in the Cup final against United. Played better than United’s De Gea. Could come to Luton on loan for a year. Then, see where we go from there.

  8. Great signing bit of a shame since doughty is one of our top 5 players though

  9. Luton will surprise the prem.
Been underestimated since league one. We will stay up, just. Then kick on next season and will be in the prem for years. A progressive, well run, profitable football club, run for the fans, by the fans.
