The Marin San Quentin has dirt jumping in it’s blood! The bike is co-designed by professional slopestyle rider Matt Jones, and the massive amount of standover clearance on the 2023 model speaks to it’s trackable intentions. But I’ve had a harder time than I expected get used to jumping the bike with it’s long, low, and slack geometry. Today I’m taking the San Quentin 3 out on a couple new sets of jumps to see if I can find redemption, or if the bike will fail me again.

Great and really interesting video as always
Great video! I ride with my wife as well 🙂
Awsome. Go hit some doble blacks trails!
I'm gonna get the frame and run my 150mm travel Z2's. Should raise the BB just enough.
I’m on a business trip to Houston and rented a San Quentin 1 from Biking Roots to try the frame out, it is for sure not as playful as the middle child. The frame build quality is decent as entry level MTB, definitely not at the level of RSD. The geometry is pretty good for hardcore terrain and very confidence inspiring. BB is too low so the pedal strikes doesn’t happen more often which is a huge bummer
Hey man! Lovely review as always. I have same fork on my Ragley Mmmbop. And no ideas on these forks or overall how an air fork work. Also I am nervous about doing a tubeless on my wheels. I think it would be great if you could make a video on such basics like the ones I mentioned above and cover more basic things to do or setup when someone buys a bike. Appreciate your contents.
Ps: I can’t find any video on Yt like such
Cool video! And what a great little jump line out in madras, which if memory serves is out in the middle of now where!
🤙🏾 Great vid
I just traded my wife in for a new one that rides bikes..🤣🤟🏽
I've been having the same problem myself, I'm used to a 26" DJ bike & my 27.5" wheeled hardtail feels really unruly in the air , kinda hard to manoeuvre about , it sort of feels like it goes where it wants in the air .
cool bike!
Next time you come to Madras, try the entire Trestles jumpline trail. It's by far the best in the system. 3x longer than Strong whiskey. There is an up route to the top (where the ice chest is located).
Will you run a mullet setup ?
What size bike is that?? The Marins seem to run small
Hi, im kinda new to enduro frames / enduro riding.. is that a 2.8 tires? Im riding 2.4/2.5 with sq3 2022.. most trail riders are telling me to go 2.8 since im on a hardtail
Hi Josh, how tall are you and what size are you riding? I don't have a dealer near me and want to confirm sizing. I am 5'10". My numbers tell me that I should be riding a M. I base this on TT and Reach. I do like the seat tube angle. Bikes online has me on large. Would M be too cramped? My body is proportional.
