When I played my first round of golf as an adult in my 40's, I was at my dad's country club and had dressed like a dufus. I was terrible, of course, and made all sorts of bad shots and faux pas I'm sure. On the last hole, a par-5, I hit my fourth shot into a bunker about 50 yards from the green. One of my dad's friends said "You should probably just pick up from there." (Double-bogey max was what they allowed me that day.) I ignored him, took some random club, hit a shot that actually was good, and sunk it. That same guy about lost his mind. He ranted about how I, a pathetic n00b golfer, was better than he was out of bunkers. LOL
