  1. It's not Verlander. He's not a building block; he's just a 'hope against hope" replacement for de Grom, who didn't provide much last year and whose career is probably over anyway.. The team is just not playing well enough to win. It's not jelling. They're playing just well enough to lose, and they're probably pressing as well. If this keeps up after Quintana comes on board, at a certain point this season the Mets should trade some productive veteran players, like Pham, Marte, or even Mc Neil and try to get some serious youthful arms. Bring up Mauricio to play second, and plug Vientos into the DH slot, and take our lumps this season. If we're going to lose anyway, let it make sense for the future. A batting order with Alonso, Baty, Vientos, Alvarez and Mauricio is a power lineup. I think the Mets fans would be intrigued. I would. We're not going anywhere anyway, it seems.

  2. I just sussed out why the Mets are having the season they are having! George Santos, serial liar and all round jackass, is apparently now a Mets fan! He's jinxed the club. Someone bribe him to be a Braves fan. I'm surprised Santos hasn't claimed to be the winning pitcher of the 1986 World Series winning team as well as claiming the Mets would have won in 2015 if he had played for them instead of doing a drag act in Brazil.
You gotta laugh otherwise you'll cry.

  3. The Metz are 13 games back now. They are an average to below average team. There shouldn't be anything surprising about another loss at this point.
