Is it just me? Every time matches are played with the old orange/brown ball and not a white ball, everyone's touch looks heavier and more awkward. I realise the pitches tended to be in worse shape when the orange ball was deployed, often frozen, but I see the same slightly laboured touch even in games played in beautiful spring sunshine where they just happened to use the pumpkin. I notice it when I watch the '65 FA Cup Final, the '66 World Cup Final, the Sandy Brown OG derby from 1969, and this game from 1980.
Contrary to popular myth, the ball wasn't heavier in the 60s; I own several footballs that were deliberately made to 1950s and 1960s standards, and although they look heavier, they are actually the exact same weight as a modern football.

As I say, maybe it's just my imagination.
Great kit actually
Sam Allardyce???
Loved that kit❤
Looking back with hindsight you could see 3 or 4 Liverpool players whose best days were behind them.
