But pulling back the curtain we can trace the roots of the worst trend of the 2020’s all the way back to the 1940’s. Come with me as we investigate the world of freakshow and spectacle fights, through 80 years of combat sports and the eventual birth of the worst thing to happen to the MMA landscape: Jake Paul.

    the ali and inoki fight was arranged by inoki, not vince, since it was inoki's promotion. ali didn't wanted to do the job for inoki and none of the parties came to an agreement for the match. there's a little explanation for this fiasco in one of the Jim Cornette's podcasts.

    An interesting note about Rikidozan. He wasn't Japanese but from the area now known as North Korea. He came to Japan knowing no Japanese, faced a lot of prejudice, but he overcame that. He learned to wrestle the hard way, trained with heavy weights, and was known for his explosive chops to the body. He also had a short temper which led to his fight against the Yakuza member and his subsequent death.

    Rickydozan was killed because he was from north Korea originally, The Yakuza found out and killed him that's what anoki himself has said
    Anoki maintained close ties with the NK goverment and thats how the wcw even collision in korea came about.

    Jack Dempsey had a popular restaurant in NYC for years. I believe it was right across the street from Madison Square Garden. I never got to eat there before it close and this saddens me.
