There’s no way Boras would let Bellinger take an extension. Some bad team is going to give him a long-term deal.
I'm willing to go 6 or 7 years on Bellinger, a guy who can play all OF spots AND 1B and DH possible later years. You can't keep selling and expect to sign the big guys like Ohtani when you keep trading off your better players.
Gordan would trade Bellinger for dylan mulvaney to prove wokeness..take that ..facts

And one other thing, no top tier free agent is going to want to come to the Chicago Hoyer's because it is quite apparent that they don't want to spend the money it would take to win a World Series Championship. Hoyer runs a shit baseball operation.
The Cubs have numerous problems. But the most fundamental problem is that it's a major market team that perennially act like a small market team. Sure, we went out and got Dansby Swanson and Marcus Stroman. But that's a drop in the bucket compared to what competitive major market teams do on a regular basis. We should fire Jed Hoyer and Ross. Too bad we can't also fire the owner.

Personally, I think I Cubs should to most or all short term deals with a very high AAV.
This Cubs team is better than the record states. They need to build on this team , give Belli & Strowman the money . They’re a couple of players away from championship team .
We can likely add 2 Top 100 prospects to our system. If not, they need to make a huge deal and get tons of power.
