The Central Michigan Golf Vlogs for 2023 are officially ON!

We are kicking it off with The Quest Golf Club in Houghton Lake, Michigan. I was amazed with this golf course and I highly recommend it as the value is incredibly solid. I played here on Friday, which they consider a weekend, and played for $49 walking. It would’ve been $69 with a cart but that’s still not bad as you guys are going to see. This is NOT your average golf course. There were some serious elevation changes as well as some holes that felt close to a links style while others were as northern woodlands as you can get. The green complexes with the shapes of the greens as well as the bunkers surrounding them reminded me of Beacon Hill, and you guys know how much I love that place!

The course was designed by 5-time PGA Tour winner and 1989 U.S. Ryder Cup Member Ken Green. He knew how to really pack a punch into a 6500 yard course. This is a demanding 72.0 Rating/133 Slope, so breaking 80 is not going to be easy. With that said, this is my preparation round for the 100th course Vlog at the BUCKS RUN GOLF CLUB which will be coming out next as an 18-hole special! You won’t want to miss it.

My goal on this day was to gain some promise in my long irons as well as my mid-range putting. Something The Quest and Bucks Run have in common are some long par threes with plenty of water on each of them. If my 4 and 5 irons aren’t on, it will be extremely hard to shoot in the 70’s.

What you’ve seen so far this year has been pretty decent, though. Let’s keep it up. Right now the 9 hole average is 40.55, which is lower than last year. Let’s close the gap some more today. 👍⚔️🔥
