  1. I’ve watched a lot of cricket over the last 25 years. Steve Smith is the best test batter I’ve ever seen by a long shot. Every other great is a distant 2nd. What a player!

  2. They’re talking about australia bc let’s face it: no one cares about England

  3. 4 world cups on the panel in the most humble ways.. if an Indian gets 4 world cups he would easily given a godly status.

  4. Weird to make the entire thing about Australia, despite England significantly dominating the day. Hide your bias a bit better, Mel.

  5. He probably will score another 8-10 100s , and will finish ahead of Ponting when it comes to maximum 100s for Australia …..

  6. Two of the greatest captains of all time!! both are my inspirations and also for their respective countries..

  7. Smith loves test march cricket. Could see him playing for another decade, if anyone can play till there 40s then Smith can. 50 test centuries not to far fetched

  8. I think losing Lyon is less of an impact on Australia than losing Leach was for England. Australia has Todd Murphy waiting in the wings, England had to drag Moeen Ali out of Test retirement and he lasted less than 1 match.

  9. Steve Smith is on another level compared to route. And so far this series has proved it

  10. Smith is best test batsmen in last decade he played great in India also not just Aus and England. Apart from him Haydo is the other player who had success all-round the world.

  11. No not at all. Has it occurred to you that the games have turned out as close as they have not in spite of the English team's tactics but because of them? Is it not better to score a quick 30 runs rather than hang around for many overs simply to end up scoring 20? How does this improve the chances of an entertaining game, an England Innings score in excess of 300 runs, an England victory, or indeed a victory for either team? Draws can be very exciting but most times they are incredibly boring and predictable at a very early stage in the game. As for reckless shots. The Australians have been as guilty in this regard as the English or almost as much. There is a fine line between winning and losing when the batsman gets on with it, which is how it should be. I would argue that it always should have been this way. Surely it is better to get out after a reckless shot after scoring a quick 30 or so, than getting out after playing a reckless shot after scoring a very slow 20 or less? England's best and most notable wins have been predicated upon particular plays smashing the ball to all parts for many decades. On the other hand, many of England's best draws have been achieved by the Geoffrey Boycott style of batting often against obviously inferior teams. Australia is currently the World Champions of Test Match Cricket while England has taken them close twice already, what is not to like? Would you seriously have been happier if England has secured two bore draws so far? Would you wish to spend your hard-earned and valuable spare time watching that?

  12. With his fitness he should go four or five years . He should concentrate on centuries so that Australia can win .
