I haven’t had the best luck with Titleist in my golf ball reviews. However that could finally change. I test the Titleist Velocity to see if the hype is worth it, like many of you have said it is.

Love these reviews. Allows me to pick a few balls to try and play with based on my play style based on your reviews instead of paying hundresd to try everything on the shelves. Much appreciated reviews
How would you rate the Velocity vs Maxfli Straightfli?
I hit a two hybrid off the tee (senior) because me and my drive aren’t friends!
My expedience with the velocity is it goes a LONG ways. Both with the driver, and on the green! 😂 not a bad ball but I can not get it to sit at all. Which, is to be expected. Pretty solid and consistent ball.
I don't understand the market for a $30 a dozen 2 piece golf ball. Who are they targeting? Low handicap golfers want a urethane 3+ piece golf ball. Even at or around $30 they can get a Snell 3 piece or a Srixon Z Star (when they are running a buy 2 get 1 free like they are now). Mid to high handicapers want a cheaper ball. I wouldn't pay $30 for a dozen 2 piece balls.
Horrible ball felt heavy and hard as a rock. I did prefer the trufeel though but not at their prices.
I had a vendor at work give me a dozen of these. I used one sleeve and gave the rest to my buddy. I didn't like the feel around the greens at all.

Again a very interesting review. What manufacturers claim and what actually happenes in the hands of us average golfers is sometimes light years apart. This could be a great ball for a certain type of player, but for most of us reading the claims on the box, we would feel let down. High launching is what is said, that is what I would expect.
Is there a ball that's a good all-around for someone with enough skill to hit straight and hard but not much knowledge of the fine details of the game? (Longtime baseball player)
