"good knowledge for grant to know, that breaks a lot" Hits it dead straight at the hole
Im deathly afraid of wedges. I tend to shank 1 out of every 25 or so and idk why. I strike my mid to long irons really well. But it's never good when I'd rather prefer a 7iron (roughly my 170yd club) vs a LW(85yds)/SW(100yds)/AW(115yds)/PW(130yds)
"He was just inside of me about an inch."
probably help us learn more if the camera guy showed ur whole body and not inside your nose the whole time
Great wedge segment!
Loved the vid! What’s the purpose for holding off the follow through on the wedge shots?
I have been working on breaking 100 for months. I started watching these videos and practicing these shots. Today I shot a 94.
that short hole should be a par 2
Y’all made it out to Magnolia. Before it was bluejack national. You could play golf, and pig hunt on the course.
loving the info will being taking it to the course real quick 👍🏾👍🏾
he was inside of me by just about an inch
okay garret
I freaking LOVE these lab videos!!
4:52 to 5:10 – are these 2 dating? Some of the gayest conversation I've heard on a golf course.
"first hole here and is actually my favorite number 69 yards"
-Garret
Love this! PLEASE TELL US WHAT CLUBS YOU ARE USING EVERY TIME!
What course is this?!
You need to do this with Colin. He needs your help with his wedges.
what club do you use for which distance?
I really struggle with that 40-80 yds shot. What sucks is i will usually end up with that too cause most holes I'll drive the ball anywhere from 280-320 and get left with those short wedge shots. I'll try to finesse it and only end up taking a huge divot and the ball goes 20 yds.
Not sure what shallow is, but you guys said it a lot so I better find out.
There's plenty of extremely talented wedge clear he come in steep or just not as shallow but anyways yeah cool video
I definitely needed to hear, “Always accelerate through the ball.” Time and time again, especially around 50-60 yards, I feel myself get too cute with my swing like I’m some super-feel type player and my club head just dies in the grass if it’s at all long. I probably have a solid 3 or 4 chunks per round that pop up and roll 20 yards from just that. Going to practice with “always accelerate” in mind asap.
"first hole is actually my favorite yardage: 69 yards" word dawg
The thing that you are saying are correct, using the bounce bounce works as a "deposit" as ou will for the shot, however telling people to use the bounce makes people to flip their wrist "in general" so it would be good if you pointed out that you still try to pick the ball up clean a.ka hitting it with the leading edge first, but because of the vertical, slighly upright position, it promotes a more shallow "neutral" strike, which then uses the bounce more. I love your content, and most of the stuff you are telling has gotten me thinking and trying, I just feel like most of my buddies who are trying to use the bounce actually end up (by accident) to hit flop shots……
Where is this?
What club they playing for 50-100y, a 50* or?
I only have a p wedge. I need to get the other ones
This was so helpful!
Makes so much sense, my wedges used to be my strong part of my game, but I lost it when I started working on my other areas.
This has helped me to get my wedges back!
Whats this par 3 course my goshhh
Who else here is a mere mortal, yet semi-skilled killer wedge player that can only hit a 60° wedge 50 yards, so you rely on your gap wedge for those 100 yard shots. Meanwhile Grant and Garrett hit their lob wedges 100 fvcking yrds, my guy, 100 yrds ain't no lob loll
Distance control is primarily spin management. Taking spin off a shot is critical to controlling distance. Personally, I just cut off the follow through, and hold the club off a bit. I always say that you have to know what a certain number feels like as well. If you have 143 yards, you have to feel a 9 iron down to 6 iron from there, and get a feel for it. Regardless, you gotta hit your number, no matter how you do it.
Phil Mickelson is pretty steep on his wedge.
I can't get over how nice this par 3 is. All the ones around me are horrible.
Where you get that Texas hat?
"Our balls were touching. He was inside of me by about an inch" Now thats quite a quote, i dont know what to say about that one.
I love watching Cam Smith's wedge play, so amazing
6:20 I have always thought the lack of forward lean is the reason why I can’t fly my wedges low. What do you reckon the reason is? My 52 goes way higher and shorter than your 56 or even 60..🤓
5:06 “he was just inside me about an inch” 😅
5:14 pause
Recap: their balls touched, and then the one guy was inside of the other guy by about an inch
4:57 to 5:09 😂
One tip I thought was eye opening….it's easier to pick a spot on your body to line up your hands than a "clock" system. For example in your back swing, continue until your hands reach the distance from the floor that matches your belly button, or your pocket, or your chest….Might be worth it and easier than trying to think in terms of 7, 8, 9, 10 o' clock.
