  1. Says it all. This Australia team don’t care how they win and all their apologies over their past cheating scandals were clearly meaningless. The paying public that allow them to live their dreams do not want to see this rubbish. Some people have paid a fortune for 5 days and then had the climax of the test ruined by underhand tactics. If teams now start doing these kind of tricks in an anything goes under the rules attitude then the public will switch off. Cricket has always been a game of respect and this Aussie team have shown they have no respect for the opposition or those watching, so I won’t be watching them again. The iconic series in 2005 was as much about the l respect of both teams, optimised by Flintoff consoling Lee after his heroic efforts that fell just short. Whatever the outcome, this series will now be only remembered for this incident and has undermined every effort of both teams. It is now a pointless, meaningless series.

  2. Tell me if I’m wrong here but I have heard reported from several sources that McCullum himself has taken long range stumpings in much the same way several times himself. Why is he sore about it now?

  3. Bottom-line England are 2-0 down. Get off of that hysteria and focus on the next game. Johnny's doziness has potentially cost them 2 tests.

  4. Won the toss, got the best of the conditions, made some poor batting decisions … Bazball vs this Australian cricket team just doesn’t stand up. Suck it up, you whinging Poms.

  5. Forget what the English have to say after they have lost, they were outclassed in prime conditions for them and need an excuse to cover that fact.

  6. McCallum and the english team seem to be massive soar losers especially when they did exactly the same. Pathetic.

  7. Bairstow does the same thing countless times so he would not appeal if he hit the stumps
He bats out of his crease and he was out no agreement
This is test cricket not u15s the English team needs to grow up and stop whingeing
If they have any doubt ask their fielding coach Mr Collingwood the ex English captain who ran a kiwi bat out after he he'd been knocked over by a English bowler on his follow through

  8. I blame Bairstow for not understanding what Australia are like. Remember, these boys like to go around with sandpaper in their pockets. They break the actual laws, violating the spirit is like drinking a cup of tea to them.

  9. This whole spirit of the game debate is utterly rubbish, rules are made so they can be followed. If it's all about the spirit of the game why were English bowlers bowling bouncers to Aussies no 9,10 and 11? Surely, they are not capable of keeping those bouncers out and that could lead to a serious injury, much more serious than getting out due to a Bairstow brain fade? How would Ben Stokes view that? Listen, rules are made to be followed and if tomorrow, u make the action by Carey illegal or Mankad for that matter, then we can have a discussion. England were fairly and squarely beaten by the world champion side, having tougher conditions to bat in (cloud cover for the most part), not having Nathan Lyon to take part in most of the match, having lost the toss, and playing away from home.Congrats Aussies! (oh im not an Aussie btw). P.S You just have to listen to how former captains like Micheal V, E.Morgan, A. Strauss and they see no problem with what Carey did.

  10. England should share 2019 wc trophy with New Zealand for he spirit of cricket if they want to cry spirit of cricket over Bairstow dismissal.

  11. As an Englishman, I’ll say it. Correct decision. Nothing wrong with the stumping. Fair dismissal. Bairstow was silly and paid the price. No more to be said

  12. Congrats to Australia from New York…And rules are rules and for everyone and for all the teams..hundred percent fair play of Bairstow getting out….England should get over it..

  13. I wish someone asked if Cameron Green was telling Stokes at the start of each over that he needs to concentrate on pull and hook shots for every delivery he bowled. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen bowling quite like that in my life.

  14. 1st Test…""Remember 2005, that's all you have to do," Kevin Pietersen on commentary.

2nd Test… "Australia will be remembering Headingly 2019" Michael Atherton.

""I think we are wining the Ashes," WTC 2023.😆

  15. slowly andrew mcdonald getting better results all around ..winning crucial moments which was missing during langer era

  16. Is it mainly because he didn't achieve much in his career though? 😄

  17. Bairstow attempted the same thing previously and failed miserably cos he couldn't aim straight. And the Poms only whinged when Kez succeeded. Purleaseeeeee….

And spirit of cricket my arse. If that was so damn important, Duckett should have been told by Stokes to walk the day before. Bah humbug.

  18. Did the English media and fans question the spirit of Broad when he refused to walk out even though he nicked the ball during Ashes in 2013. Why the media and English fan didn’t question the fair play spirit of Broad then ?
Why there is so much reaction when something happens to them.
Again, why didn’t Stokes refuse to run though he had hit the ball and made it an overthrow in the final of 50 overs World Cup in 2019 ? That run made the difference between a winner and loser. NZ accepted it gracefully.
This talk of spirit from English is just double standard and plain stupid. Accept the defeat and move on.

  19. 39.1.1 The striker is out Stumped, except as in 39.3, if  a ball which is delivered is not called No ball and  he/she is out of his/her ground, other than as in 39.3.1  and  he/she has NOT attempted a run when his/her wicket is fairly put down by the wicket-keeper without the intervention of another fielder.

This for all those who think because he wasnt taking a run he cant be stumped or run out. Allan Lamb had this ridiculous defence of Bairstow.

  20. The difference between the coaches summary of Bairstows dismissal is worth noting isn't it. Level headed approach vs. a moronic childish outburst. Aussies in good hands.

  21. Did any of you hear this joke from Undone McCullum" quote blah blah blah England team is galvanized after the Pony fairstow stumping, & they will win ashes 3-2, he must be on weed I suppose, All the best Aussies, decimate the English

  22. Carey releases the ball immediately after capturing it. If he did this off a spinner no one would even be mentioning it. Just smart and observant cricket versus dumb ignorant cricket. Embarrassing way to get out and hence the defensiveness

  23. Fair play to Australia, bouncer then throw-down on the final ball of the over. If Andrew devised it, then it was a great plan.

  24. The Aussies have opened up a right can of worms. Just see what happens at Headingley now.
