In todays video, high handicap golfer Steve Battle has booked in for a golf lesson. Steve is struggling with a slice will all his clubs, especially his driver!

Will the MOST ANTI SLICE DRIVER or A GOLF LESSON help Steve the most?…

  1. Nothing wrong with that swing (relatively). The ball might slice, might be losing a little distance because of the spin but they're mostly fairway finders! Strengthen that grip a little and maybe it'll straighten the flight.

  2. Gaz, you guys touched on it briefly at the beginning of the video but wondered if you could comment on how to go about selecting a pro to take lessons from. Just because someone plays well doesn’t mean they can teach. Do young folks have an appreciation for loss of motion we old folks might have? Each of my playing partners has a unique swing so not sure their advice as to who to go to has merit for me. Can get lessons at the golf store, club or golf studio where I live, but for the investment hard to select the best option for me. Can you weigh in?

  3. I was just fitted last week into that driver. My irons, hybrid & fairway all have a nice draw but my driver was fading a bit The Ping G430 SFT gave me the slight draw It was good for about 5 to 7 yards of correction!

  4. Interesting vid Gaz. You should probably have a look at my driver swing although I have been swinging it a lot better.

  5. Kell definitely needs to start playing golf …..just to keep him off the powder 😳

  6. He just needs an in to out swing. he's not far from a good swing. i watched it in slo motion, he's cutting across the ball with an over the top swing. he should try the Eureka Golf Swing from Steve Johnston PGA. that's his youtube channel. his way of setting up to the ball cured my slice

  7. I think the simplest way to avoid the slice is to go to a three wood…..in fact anyone who struggles with a driver should do this as they won't lose distance as they will have better contact and control and probably find more fairways 🥳🤔🤩

  8. Yep. A lesson – try to get that path a little more in to put. Or at least, less out to in.

  9. Hiya all, good to watch Gaz, I've bought a new driver the Cobra LTD LS 65g stiff Raw white tensei and I've got a bit longer but much straighter and what a difference it makes. It can still go right but now I have a baby fade/baby draw rather than a huge OB right.

  10. I use to have a cobra F speed off set as well to try get rid of my slice . Had no lessons as yet but got a new driver at Christmas Taylormade M4 driver .. Still a slice but after watching a few videos on YouTube turns out I was serving up with my shoulders wide open ( pointing to left) & everything else was set up straight. This was the main reason I have found I had a slice.. so now I set up straight & over exaggeratemy shoulder pointing to the right. This has made me hit straight drives & stopped me glancing across the ball making me slice

  11. I’ve always fought a slice, more or less cured it but whenever I have a long layoff I resort to type and start slicing again. Looking forward to seeing the lesson next week. He’s very consistent

  12. Couldn't help but notice the rates for lessons! And it illustrates the differences between golf in the UK and the States. Green fees, memberships, lessons, etc. seem much more "exclusive" here.

  13. Saw a great video with Rick Sheils. His student had a Rouge driver and a big slice. He tried the BIg Bertha anti-slicer and didn’t accomplish much. Rick put him back in the old Rouge and THEN gave him a five minute lesson. The guy started pounding it straight as an arrow. The guy didn’t need a new driver, he needed a lesson. I bet you’ll get this fellow quickly sorted out with his swing, Gaz. Now, he still needs a new driver because that old Ping 5 dates back to the dinosaur era. Lol

  14. So how did his lesson go, did you get him to straighten it out a little? You should know you can't talk about a Yorkshire man about buying pints 😂

  15. Steve does not need a 500 pound driver a Taylormade sim2 driver with a 45gram speed loader shaft at about 250 pounds would Improve his golf,as an eighty year old golfer this is my set up and it gives me on average 220 yards.

  16. Mmmm looks like my drive & some times mine is worse. I was looking at this Ping, but maybe I would be better off looking at set up & swing. Well done lads.

  17. I finally got myself an old G30 SF and upped loft to 11* – it really helped my slice as did: -having a stronger grip -trail foot set back a bit -golf shaft more upright and hovering the club !
Good luck if you can afford it get fitted and some lessons !

  18. The SFT has two heel weight settings. Did you use the most heel biased weight setting and the +1.5 degree loft settings to create the most closed head?
