Former British #1 and grand slam finalist John Lloyd returns to the podcast to recap how Novak Djokovic made history at Roland Garros, winning his record-breaking 23rd major title. Lloyd explains how Djokovic continues to raise the bar for the sport, and why there’s still plenty in the tank for the Serbian. The current commentator also discusses the cramping issue with Carlos Alcaraz, how Iga Swiatek triumphed in Paris for the 3rd time, and why women’s tennis is in a very good place.

Lloyd then dives into the start of grass court season, why Andy Murray is still dangerous on the grass, and what advice he’d give to new tennis couple Stefanos Tsitsipas & Paula Badosa. Hosted by Mitch Michals.

  1. why is not being somebody's fan equaling to hating that person. I am Nole's fan but i don't hate any players. i love Roger's and Nadal's style

  2. I loved Taylor's reaction too. It is game on – and these players don't give a flying eff! Well said, John Lloyd.

  3. Lloyd is completely spot on.
When Federer won his 20th slam he pinned it for God knows how long on his twitter account.
A year later he says, that he doesn't like that nowadays it's only about slams.
Even his sponsor Rolex used to say it was about slams, now suddenly it's not about records but elegance and bla bla. LMAO!
Nobody will admit it, but Roger is the most fake person ever.
He pretends to be this perfect guy, but the truth is that he is protected by the media and sponsors.

  4. Fedal were not concerned about the records because they knew Djokovic will beat their records. Their records were just temporary. Djokovic’s winning is as certain as it’s to rain in the UK. It was always just a matter of time.

  5. "Thank you. I'm 23 Grand slams winner Novak Djoković. When I go to sleep at night, I'm not just a guy going to sleep. I'm 23 Grand slams winner Novak Djoković going to some well needed shut-eye. And when I dream, I don't dream any old dream. No sir. I dream of being 24  Grand slams winning tennis player Novak Djoković."

  6. The two commentators on Tiafoe/ Fucovics seem unable to say a good word about Frances… but Fucovics is always trying , doing good… Is it unconcious bias? its really a pain in the tennis ball

  7. This way of talking about Iga by virtually all experts, which underestimates her value, skills and capabilities is amazing. Something like: "Yes, she won, well, such a good match, but the other one is a great tennis player… No, Iga is unlikely to dominate the tennis of the future…" She is compared to tennis players from the past as worse, to the present ones as the one that will be beaten by those tennis players that experts drool over. If your performance in sports doesn't already define you as a great athlete, then what defines you? This is depressing and unfair.

  8. I think nerves were a factor in Alcarez's cramping. It wasn't just nerves of playing Novak in a big match, but also the pressure of being the favorite to win the match as well. Add to that potential nutritional deficiencies and a very physical first two sets and cramping isn't crazy to see happening. Also Alcarez himself mentioned post match that he was unusually nervous and tense in this match.

  9. Whether someone likes it or not, Novak Djokovic is and will be the GOAT, as he has shown and proven both on and off the court. History, with the example of Muhammad Ali and Novak Djokovic, has clearly shown how great people who have an ATTITUDE and are ready to pay the price for their attitude pass. In any case, a role model for everyone.

  10. Just shut up never rafa said he did not like to be the one with most grand slam
He did say he will be happy but if not his life will never change
Olso remember rafa had so many injury qnd as a human he always said he had doubts
So believe him not its speculation because you are not rafa

  11. Its very interesting that Novak gets massive recognition and support from TENNIS related people. Meanwhile so called journalists and media people seem to critisize him the most.

  12. emma may get back inside the top 50 maybe but i really can't see her winning another slam

  13. The only record he won't break is Nadal's 14 Roland Garros, and the 3 way tie between Federer-Sampras-Connors 5 US Open Titles

  14. Mr. Lloyd nailed it regarding the French fans. The worst I’ve ever seen (and I love the French Open tournament).
