Peter goes deep with second-year Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah just days after the release of RB Dalvin Cook. Kwesi talks about his unorthodox path to the GM position, his application of skills honed on Wall Street in the football world, and walks us through his approach to decision making and roster building. Adofo-Mensah goes rapid fire on everything from Kirk Cousins’ greatest qualities to his favorite rappers of all-time to the most under appreciated player on the Vikings roster. Peter and Aaron, then, talk about…Broadway and their favorite vocalists of all-time.

  1. I say this every year but I fully believe this year the Vikings will make it all the way🤘SKOL BABY!!!

  2. From a Packers fan, gear interview. I honestly wish him luck, a competitive division is best anyway. Iron sharpens iron.

  3. I love Kevin oconnell and the Brian Flores hire was a great move…not sure about kwesi yet lets sign jefferson, hockenson and darrisaw then I will approve

  4. Pete Schrager does the best, most entertaining and meaningful interview of a GM Ive seen.

  5. The 2024 season will tell us a lot about both Kwesi and KOC. Last year was like a sugar high. I think players were happy Zimmer was gone and they were clutch in nearly all their close games. It was the biggest statistical anomaly in NFL history. They were probably a nine win team who magically won thirteen games.

Kwesi has made some decisions that on the face of them seem pretty questionable. Will he be a flash in the pan or a legit general manager?

  6. Him saying I’ve lost a million dollars in ten minutes just is hard to fathom what that feel like..

  7. Honestly, I don't like a lot of the draft decisions so far, the actual picks and the trades done to get more move down etc. But he seems like a good dude, he has a plan/vision of what he's trying to do. So, I will not criticize or praise him yet, say he sucks or is great, I just want to see how things pan out. He inherited a team in steep decline and has a tough job ahead. I will say I do like his offseason decisions so far this year. Gives me confidence he's trying to fix and not throw a bandaid on.
I really doubt this coming season will be as successful as last though. Its a rebuild on that D, which doesn't usually translate to great success initially. Maybe Flores will stick around more than 1 yr.

  8. I can't believe Flores came here thinking Hunter wasn't part of the package. I like Kwesi style but sometimes the downfall is trying to get too cute too soon. Besides Hunter, our defensive line is pretty much back up talent until proven different.

  9. All the negative on him in here seem to be people that don't follow that he is trying to maximize the salary that we do spend, managing balancing restructuring (spending next years dollars this year), cutting players to bite the bullet now (dead cap money this year) so that we can have money next year, being competitive NOW, building for a championship run. Same with drafting, balance getting fewer blue chippers and those that show potential for a possible spot.
Its not always popular ie cutting these fan favorites, not picking some popular pick or really drafting the impossible ie franchise QB without the capital. He's a well respected GM and for me, I'd rather put a smart guy in a position of importance and let him go.

  10. I think most GMs and players have already lost their respect for Kwesi they know he’s out of his league and he’s been getting walked by agents

  11. Peter said he's a great young mind in the NFL but I would not tie the word "Great" to him. He still has to proove it which so far he hasn't done. Most Viking fans are wondering just what the heck is he doing? Trading within the division multiple times is pretty crazy although the Hockenson trade was a good one the others were not. Time will tell but fans are getting tired of his stories and want to see some action starting with actually keeping a stellar talent like 99 Hunter. So far Kwesi has shown if you have talent if you bring everything a team looks for if your a captain or great in the community he hasn't shown to value much of that. Just ask Thielen, Kendricks, or Cook and Hunter. Time for Kwesi to be great like they promised .

  12. I'm ONLY half way through this interview and i KNOW I won't Ever forget it!!!
    Very deep and Definitely REAL!!!
    JUST💜🏈✌️

  13. I Hope a "SPOTTER" Isn't what I think it REALLY IS!!! You know what I mean???
    🤫😯🤯😇
    Just💜🏈✌️

  14. Kwesi is a f'n disaster. "Great young minds of the NFL." He's made 1 good move and 99 bad ones. He gave a 5th round pick to the Eagles for Jalen Reagor. Traded his 1st pick away to the Lions and his 2nd to the Packers. Got nothin' for Dalvin Cook. Had every reason to fire DC Ed Donatell last season at the bye week and pussed out. It cost us an embarassing playoff loss at home. 4 Pro Bowl defenders had the worst seasons of their careers under Ed and he did nothing about it. Who says you have to give him a chance. I think he's shown more than enough incompetence to fire his ass TODAY.

  15. Now if Kwesi can just stop having 32nd ranked draft classes every year we might have a roster!
