The PGA Tour, DP World Tour and LIV Golf are merging to form “a new collectively owned” entity, it has been announced.

The new entity has not been named yet but the shock news signals a new era of cooperation for previously rival tours and ends all outstanding litigation between the parties.

A statement said: “The parties have signed an agreement that combines PIF’s golf-related commercial businesses and rights (including LIV Golf) with the commercial businesses and rights of the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour into a new, collectively owned, for-profit entity to ensure that all stakeholders benefit from a model that delivers maximum excitement and competition among the game’s best players”.

“In addition, PIF will make a capital investment into the new entity to facilitate its growth and success. The new entity (name TBD) will implement a plan to grow these combined commercial businesses, drive greater fan engagement and accelerate growth initiatives already underway. With LIV Golf in the midst of its second, groundbreaking season, the PGA TOUR, DP World Tour and PIF will work together to best feature and grow team golf going forward.

“Notably, today’s announcement will be followed by a mutually agreed end to all pending litigation between the participating parties. Further, the three organizations will work cooperatively and in good faith to establish a fair and objective process for any players who desire to re-apply for membership with the PGA TOUR or the DP World Tour following the completion of the 2023 season and for determining fair criteria and terms of re-admission, consistent with each Tour’s policies.”

  1. That’s Coltart, McGinley, Doherty and the other Sky pundits eating humble pie or out of a job once the money talks. 🤣🤣

  2. Trump called in back in July 2022.
“All of those golfers that remain ‘loyal’ to the very disloyal PGA, in all of its different forms, will pay a big price when the inevitable MERGER with LIV comes, and you get nothing but a big ‘thank you’ from PGA officials who are making Millions of Dollars a year,” Trump wrote on Truth Social

  3. So we now legitimise Saudi Arabia and the acid bathing of journalists? I won’t be following it anymore like many others with morals.

  4. Well how funny! Will all those pathetic journalists who were throwing questions to the golfers that went to LIV regarding the Saudis human rights standards apologies as the clear hypocrisy is now evident… or let me guess, like typical media, it is too beneath them to admit they were wrong!

  5. The people u were trashing last week are your business partners this week? Will there be 3 rounds or 4 rounds per tournament? Has anyone told Brandel Chamblee?

  6. So basically they've spent 2 years condemning and crucifying any player who left to join liv golf but now they dont want to miss out on anything they decide to merge.
I mean its laughable, what happened to the morality issues?

  7. It’s so tremendous. I have been in a thousand arguments on here about the LIV tour, no what’s the messiah Brandle Chamblee and RORY going to say. I guess Phil’s was right all along. ThePGA was even more corrupt than I thought. I went back and looked at comments and most people who were on their high horse have deleted most of their old posts. I had one PGA club pro tell me he would never do anything having to do with LIV. EVERYONE does business with the prince. People just don’t want to admit it.

  8. What are all the liv golf haters going to do now that the pga have merged get off your high horse 🐎 it's always going to be about the money 😂

  9. What a crock. It would appear that the players who jumped to LIV Golf are not the only ones willing to sell their integrity to the highest bidder. Can't wait to see how that lying sack of crap Jay Monahan spins this. The Saudis said "jump", and he said "how high, and for how much?".

  10. PGA monopoly shattered to pieces and player’s integrity worthless.. somehow can’t see them all living happily ever after , plenty more to come on this.

  11. When it come to money and wealth nobody can live with saudis..they slowly but surely getting more and more sports…but who cares…no breakaway tour now so they should all be happy…who cares where money from…its the way of the world right now…just enjoy all big names together playing for crazy money… should be some ride
