While most players are searching for the right racket for competition, my job as an instructor is also identifying which stick offers the best response for beginners and those looking to get more involved with tennis.
Usually beginners rackets are very different from the frames that end up being used for high level competition. I have to say that the “S” is a great middle ground. It is light, has a large head, but still rewards and develops great technique without being too far off from performance frames.
It’s versatility is underrated and the Head Gravity “S” is definitely worth a look for beginners, or coaches who want a dynamic, spin-friendly racket that can seamlessly transition from feeding to playing in.
I would recommend this racket above the Babolat Pure Drive Lite as the BEST option for novice and intermediate players who are smaller or need something light.
