Morah Lauren, Morah Susie and Morah Sprout explore new plants that grow in our garden! We will continue to expand upon these concepts in multiple ways, so feel free to skip around and press pause at any time if your child is engaged in their play.

Here is a timestamp breakdown of the video:
Introduction to Simple Garden Plants
1:10: “The Green Grass Grows All Around” (Movement Song with Morah Susie)
3:49: The Tree That Bear Climbed (Read-Aloud)
8:00: Flowers + Playdough Flower Garden Activity

Materials for Garden Activity:
– Egg Carton (or a muffin tin, a few cups, tin cans, or small plastic bowls)
– Playdough (no playdough? Make it with this recipe)
– “Stems” (sticks, straws, popsicle sticks, golf tees, and/or pipe cleaners)
– “Leaves” (applesauce pouch caps, real leaves, bottle caps, twist ties)
– “Flowers” (bottle caps, feathers, pom poms, cotton balls, qtips)

Please note: do not worry if your child is not following along with the activity step-by-step! Providing a simple setup with playdough and safe loose parts is a great way for your child to work their fine motor skills through an open-ended sensory experience. There is no “right or wrong” way to play!
