Rishi Persad and Sam Turner are joined by Tanya Stevenson for another episode of Racing Weekly.

On today’s show we take a long view of Royal Ascot 2023 which is now firmly on punters’ agenda.

Later on we also speak to Oliver Sherwood who brought an end to his training career after nearly 40 years as he joins young handler Harry Derham as assistant trainer for the National Hunt 2023/24 season.

  1. What were your tips for the Derby, Passenger and Military Order , have they finished yet ?

  2. How Tanya aged !
I still remember her first nervous first day on channel 4 morning line with all the old team

  3. Tanya Stevenson knows more about the game than some ever will, her enthusiasm for the sport is second to none.

  4. Would have done the Oliver Sherwood piece seperate if it was me,as you have not left much time for the Royal Ascot antepost section.Mixing it up with a retiring jumps trainer in the middle of the flat season with Royal Ascot just around the corner i would have kept the Oliver Sherwood piece out of this weeks Oddschecker.

  5. Not too much mention of 2 year olds you fancy Rishi,Tanya and Sam,one that i thought was very impressive and while her time was ok Sam she never came out of 2nd gear was "Beautiful Diamond" who won at Nottingham recently and looked very good, purchased at 360,000 from a breeze up i believe. Will take a good one to beat her in the Queen Mary i thought.

  6. All the very best in your new venture Simon, you were a fantastic trainer, and so glad to see you in good health 👍👍👏👏

  7. Desert Crown being a NR is Kharma for Richard Kingscote and what’s the odds he doesn’t get the ride on Bay Bridge

  8. Not mentioned when reflecting on the Hilary Needler but I thought 2nd horse Flora of Bermuda (Balding) was quite unlucky

  9. Great interview with Oliver Sherwood. I remember The Breener & Large Action. I also remember Many Clouds winning in particular, the Colin Parker at Carlisle & the Premier Chase at Kelso. What a horse he was, & Oliver is one of many good people in racing.

  10. Imagine if itv morning show had Tanya on , viewer's would easily double ot triple. Alas will never happen because they would have to concentrate on the racing then !!!
