There are many factors that affect our golf swing as we get older, and these golf tips can help us continue to enjoy the game without sacrificing distance. In this golf lesson video, we break down what changes we can do to help our golf swing as we age, and provide some simple golf swing basics to help you get more flexibility, distance and enjoyment out of your golf game!

Golf Setup – as we get older, we tend to lose flexibility and mobility in our body, which makes rotation more difficult. Take your golf setup a little wider for a little extra stability and flare your toes out for more rotation around the body, and you will be hitting better golf shots in no time!

Senior Golf Swing – younger golfers tend to use a lot more rotation and body movement. As we lose some of that flexibility, we need to learn how to generate more club speed and power with our arms as well with this easy golf swing tip.

Hitting Driver Farther – if we want to maximize distance with our driver as we get older, we need to adjust how we set up and hit the ball. Moving the ball forward will help us hit up on the ball, which will increase launch and decrease spin, helping us get more roll.

To draw the ball, we want to aim a little more to the right (right-handed golfer), tilt away from the target and have the lead arm slightly higher than the trail arm. This all promotes a more outward path to help us hit that nice high draw, and a more consistent golf swing overall.

  1. I!m a senior golfer and I have difficulty with the long irons such as 6 and 5. How can I do in this case? Thank you.

  2. I have had a fusion done on my right wrist, are there anything I can do to improve my game? I am 72 years old.

  3. I will be 75 later this year. Three years ago, my driver swing speed was 86. I am currently using a regular shaft. At what swing speed should I go to a senior shaft ? Loosing distance year by year. If a hit a cut or fade, I do get more distance. If I hit a draw, it is by a mistake and don;t know how I did it.

  4. Great instruction. I'll be trying this tomorrow. Thanks
What about fairway woods and utilitie woods?👍🏌⛳🇺🇸😀

  5. I started doing stack and tilt after neck fusion . I noticed I stopped burying my club in the ground, on a hard swing .
Causing my neck to start hurting.

  6. You said you will guarantee I will be playing greater golf. What's the guarantee? What happens if I don't play greater golf? How does your guarantee compensate me then if I don't play better?

  7. Makes sense! Nice video. Informative…. I can’t draw the ball to save my butt, willing to try this method! Thank you

  8. Hi Todd
I like your way teaching and therefore would like to confirm gravity swing with your shoulder
Turn adds club head speed and enormous speed. I’m playing with my left arm only. I’m 58
With lots of injuries due to crash and manage 230yard carry with driver and club head speed of 91mph
I find it difficult to move the ball back in my stance with driver and therefore often miss the centre of
Fairway. Maybe you can give me a drill to alter this

  9. Todd, I don't know how to thank you for the advice you gave me with regards to approach shots and chipping, both have improved immensely and my game is much much better. I am playing with more confidence and very little tension. Thank you so much..AWESOME!!!

  10. Thank you for a good tip, Todd. But I am confused little bit about the ball position. I understand that in order to hit up on the ball (for driver), we need to place a ball forward in stance which I do. However, to swing in-to-out for the draw, would it be easier if the ball is little inside toward the center of the stance? I noticed occasional pulled tee shots and am wondering whether it is due to the ball position. I am 70 years old, have played over 40 years, and carry 14 handicap.
