The most disruptive year in golf ended Tuesday when the PGA Tour and European tour agreed to a merger with Saudi Arabia’s golf interests, creating a commercial operation designed to unify professional golf around the world. As part of the deal, the sides are dropping all lawsuits involving LIV Golf against each other effective immediately. TSN’s Mark Zecchino and Adam Scully discuss the breaking news.

  1. loooooooooool
    EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!!!
There is going to be so many butt hurt old white guys. It was inevitable after Bruce’s win. PGA loses their “charity” status but will make up for it with some shady Saudi accounting

  2. This is really disgusting….supporting Saudi Arabia…clearly one of the most corrupt regimes on this earth.

  3. At the end everything was just about money! Like it was in the very beginning!

  4. Total disgrace on a political level🙄😈 Disaster on a sporting level: how are they going to merge 54 hole tournaments vs 72 hole tournaments? Cuts vs no cuts? Guarantied $ vs Making the cut? Attribution of WGR Points?? 🤬🤬 This is the most crazy decision by the PGA since their creation……….. The wind was blowing in the back of the PGA and was blowing in the face of LIVE golf but now??? Unbelievable and disappointing😫🥱

  5. From a business standpoint, this merger makes sense for all sides, but especially for Monahan, as he was probably going to be fired from his job anyway since the PGA was increasingly losing viewers and TV ratings due to the rapid dilution of their product.

Like it or not, the LIV Golf format is very compelling and there are some big names and talented players on their 48-man roster that put eyeballs on the sport.

And as is the case with any professional sport, you need to showcase the very best players in your league in order to be globally recognized as the best league.

No one in the world disputes that the NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB all feature the best players and world class athletes in their leagues.

No one in the world disputes that the World Cup of Soccer features the best players in the world representing their countries in the biggest international tournament on the planet, held once every four years.

The PGA/LIV/Euro Tour now have to figure out the best way to organize and assemble their golfing talent, and how to best present their unified product to a global audience.

But I don't trust Monahan to be the right candidate to do that, however.

They'll need to get way smarter people than him in place at the helm in order to successfully pull this off.

  6. PAL IT'S OVER STOP SELLING THE POISON YOU IDIOT, FOR LIV GOLF THIS IS A HUGE WIN FOR BEING A START UP AND BUY OUT THE COMPETITION IS A MAJOR SCORE.
IT TOOK THE WHA 7 YEARS BEFORE MERGE WITH THE NHL

  7. Why is ANY so called "DEMOCRATIC " country even engaging with despots and killers except for the greed ?

  8. none of the sides really give a shit about what is best for the game. time we all accept that.

  9. I think Americans need to Boycott the PGA NOW immediately 911 was no JOKE to us American PPL in the USA.. In My Opinion Democratics Republicans Independents& Golfers and PPL need to BOYCOTT & the President of the PGA should be FiRED and sponsors font back them at ALL

  10. not that it matters but I'm moving on from golf period. TV had already turned an hour of golf into a 45 minute commercials with 15 minutes of playing. This just solidified my opinion of the sport.

  11. So, Phil Michelson isn't a Nazi now? Or, are all PGA Players now Nazis? That's what Rory and the rest of the PGA were calling the LIV players.

  12. I’m done watching or supporting PGA golf in any way. If I can control it, I won’t give any money to theocratic dictatorships.
