Paul McBeth is clearly on his fun arc in terms of playing disc golf and especially on the disc golf pro tour. In a recent post, he states “pull up your sleeves and put that extra work in”. Not sure if thats a sign that is or is not doing that right now but the Estonia Open on the European Pro Tour was rough to say the least. Amazing putting but also terrible putting the same time.

Based on his comments about the euro tour courses vs dgpt courses, it seems like he’s playing the euro tour because he wanted more of a challenge. It is surprising he didn’t do better, but my guess is he’s playing these courses because likes them better not necessarily because he’s trying to be “Peak Paul”, if that makes sense. Whether or not we see him rise on the leader boards, I’m happy for him that he has the freedom to “do worse” on courses he enjoys more.
Maybe the level of play has risen and he is not as dominant as we once believed??? When people have been kissing your ass for the better part of a decade it's easy to start thinking your shit doesn't stink. Maybe if he concentrated on his play instead of building courses in far off lands he would be playing better. There are places in America people have never heard of disc golf. Not sure why he has to go to other continents. I didn't even find out about disc golf until I was 42 yrs old, and I live where it started. If Paul wants to reclaim his status as the best in the game he needs to focus on being the best in the game. But I think at this point he sells a shitload of discs without even winning. So he isn't hurting for money right now. But his brand is is linked to winning, and if he doesn't keep doing that It will be interesting if the discs sales continue to rise as he fades.
McBeth is a great player but he has peaked. The talent pool gets deeper and deeper every year and we won't see another prime McBeth or Climo in this sport ever again.
All great points, fair, he'll get back on track
Oh he’s pissed I’m sure. He wants to win.
Like other dominant athletes, the thing that sets Paul McBeth apart is his killer instinct. When he wants it bad enough he can win. 90% of that kind of dominance has to do with what's going on in between his ears. I agree that other commitments and distractions may play a factor in his current level of play, but that won't last forever. The field is getting better, but even if McBeth is passed his physical peak (he's not), no other player in the field has proved yet that they can be that Tom Brady, or Kobe Bryant, or Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods. McBeth is still the only disc golfer in that category. He proved that last year by playing out of his mind at European Open and winning Worlds again!
Next time Paul wins I want all you retards to remember how fast you reacted to him having 1 bad tourney…… 7 time world champion gonna be hard to say without tearing up for some of them haters
I doubt Paul struggled with transport at all 😉 ..he rented a car, gotta a nice upgrade, as sales clerk knew him and there was no worries with that.
Paul is traipsing around Europe with his wife, enjoying every moment of life, and some internet dudes want to criticize him? Fuggetaboutit. He's out there not only to play golf, but to help grow the Discraft brand and his own brand. You can bet he'll get at least one win.
More to the point, his presence in Europe is helping to build the sport in a place where it isn't as prevalent. Never mind the stats, he's doing precisely what our sport needs in order to grow.
