With salary, club ownership, Apple money, and Adidas money, Messi's deal in Miami might be far more valuable than what the Saudis offered him.
Granted, the details aren't public, to the best of my knowledge. But, if he gets a 20% share of a club which is appreciating at a rate of 15% per year, and 2.5% of Apple TV MLS revenue for as long as he's in the league, as well as increased Adidas revenue…. I can easily see the total value of the deal exceeding $2 billion.
Messi spent the last two years focusing on the 2 months World Cup in Qatar. His performance in the French league was really sub par to what he showed before, as he’s not getting younger. He even wanted Paris to waive him from training in the morning. I am just afraid US might get really disappointed by the old Messi and Miami team will just look like a theme park…
