  1. Lol. Rory just learned a lesson. If you don’t have total control, you have nothing….the American way

  2. They shouldn’t get paid. Businessmen make decisions to make money. Sometimes they make a decision that puts their careers on the line. LIV guys did that. They took huge risk to their reputations and sponsor relationships and careers. And it seems to have paid off. The PGA guys for their reasons decided to play it safe. Either they bought into the the moral bull crap. Or they were worried about their LEGACY. Or they didn’t think team golf was the way to go and would not catch on. Whatever their reasons they didn’t want to take the risk. It looks like it didn’t work out for them. They made a bad BUSINESS decision. Besides because of LIV they all played for more money including the PIP payouts. Even the lowest of players made a guaranteed 500,000 just for having a tour card.

  3. well if you believe that you obviously think the Saudi's are thick i don't think so PGA will do as Study's tell them and Rory get compensated from LIV on your bike Rory

  4. Everyone is back together, that's a good thing.
Can't blame Rory for being pissed, still great opportunity for himself to pick up more $$ if the prize pools will be increased.

  5. so……are the Saudi's going to give the PGA players a huge hunk of money as they gave the trader LIV guys ????

  6. Put the fact we are talking about a sport aside for a moment and look at it purely as a business, Corporation Boards have been playing the mergers and acquisitions game for the benefit of the Corporation over staff and consumer for decades, doesn't make it right, but its just now going beyond the normal realms of influence to things like sport and touching sporting stars, not just the average battler, the same sporting stars who ironically effort accept endorsements from Corporations who put profits and shareholders first over a greater collective approach to benefit all stakeholders.

  7. WHO CARES?
We need to be realistic as fans these guys are multi millionaires living lives we only dream of so I don't pity any of them when there are people who live in poverty.

  8. Feels like both Rory and LIV players got played at the end of the day. But I understand how Rory feels and it is devastating to his image now.

But the PGA tour management is by far the the most hypocritical move in sports and on the level of true politics. Fire the upper management completely.

It would be asinine to think this whole thing isn’t about money

  9. Having been employed by large organisations, I learnt from experience that the word " merger " is a more acceptable word for " take over "..let's be honest about it.Normally as a sweetner the organisation doing the take over will leave some of the other organisation's senior executives in place to see things through…they don't last long and are soon paid off and replaced with their own people.

  10. Rory, if you think you are a sacrificial lamb (and obviously not a goat!) then stop defending the PGA tour and Jay in particular…

  11. I don’t know how any pro golfer can handle playing for Saudi money when they all, for the most part, have charities they support that deals with helping the underprivileged, ill, abused and support women’s rights to equality.
Has anyone heard anything about this from the LPGA? I’m sure they have concerns about it too.
Golf cannot be owned/run by Saudi interests. Jay Monahan screwed all of golf for a big payoff. Even if he resigns, the damage is done and he leaves richer than he ever imagined.

  12. We live in the era of money as religion and profit is God; that means all morals and honour no longer exist thus how can we possibly be surprised?
"One day money will be the undoing of golf" Bobby Jones

  13. Nobody’s on either tour is going broke because of this merger. Like in all pro sports, it’s millionaires arguing over who makes more millions. The fans will eventually pay. This Saudi PIF fund has assets of 600 billion dollars. Most from Saudi oil money. Paying players millions won’t even faze the bottom line of the fund.

  14. Rory took sides and got stabbed in the back. He must feel quite the idiot now. Welcome to today´s world. If I were in Rory's position, I would consider quitting professional golf. Somehow you have to feel a bit sorry for him, he truly believed in what he was doing. But at the end the sport, I think, wins. We will have all the best players competing each other again.

  15. Hm it looks like we will have chempionship final . Like in soccer, asian tour as 4 participate. Or Ryder Cup will be bigger than ever.?

  16. So now we golf fans are going to get more top players playing against each other, more often, and making way more money. Well, I guess that is really going to improve the game of golf, right? WRONG! Improving the game of golf, to me, would being able to play a round of golf at a fair price. Improving the game of golf would mean more golf courses so I don't have to book a round 2-3 weeks in advance. Improving the game of golf would mean making something better for the everyday golfer! How does giving more money to the millionaire class of professional golfers improve the game of golf for us regular golfers? Please tell me. I'm listening. How about using that Saudi PIF (Public Investment Fund) money to build 600-700 new public golf courses worldwide? Now that would be improving the the game of golf!!

  17. Its good to have one total golf system in stead of three, but…. As SA money is going to tell and rule how to do and act it will be wrong. SA has a different mindset of humankind and democracy

  18. I’m so excited about the announcement! This is really going to elevate our sport. Despite the recent uptake during lockdown Golf just doesn’t seem to get much exposure outside of the USA. I for one welcome the move. There were the same concerns when silly amounts of money was pumped into F1 and Horse Racing and they’ve flourished. Roll on 2024.

  19. Rory & all present PGA players got played – the PGA management probably got bought for big $$$$

  20. PGA joins LIV makes it very cost efficient not having to pay individual payers millions ( Rory joins LIV. for free )

  21. The so called Saudis’ lack of human right issues alleged by PGA are gone. Yes, money talks!

  22. Fact of the matter is this… Players can Sue LIV GOLF for breach of contract….. And I’m sure Players will….

  23. This was all very predictable two years ago. Maybe the Irish players are a bit slow. That happened
