My cover of the wonderful song Golf Girl made by Caravan.
(It started raining golfballs, and she protected me.)

  1. This was composed by Richard Sinclair and arranged by Dave Sinclair. The song was inspired by Canterbury golf course, where the band were renting a bungalow in Stodmarsh Road that overlooks the green, or at least it did back then.

The golf girl, Pat, was Richard's girlfriend at the time.

  2. Fantastic! Shame you weren't around in Canterbury (on the golf course) a few years ago!
Loving your style and interpretation. Hope you go far – you deserve to!

  3. I'll try. Pye now lives in Scotland, so I only see him maybe a couple of times a year. Shall certainly do my best for you – in fact I tweeted links to both 'Caravan' and 'Jerry' versions of Golf Girl last night. (@wiseworlduk)
    Keep up the great work!

  4. Hmmm, been into this Caravan song & album (In the Land of Grey & Pink) since about 1979, still play it regularly now! So I think Jerry's version… is EXECLLENT!! It's in the exact same playful spirit as the original, so it is spot on. I hope Pye Hastings gets to hear this! Met him once, very nice chap!
