Back in February 2023, Transgender professional disc golfer Natalie Ryan filed a lawsuit against the PDGA, DGPT, and 1000 rated productions (the organizers of the OTB Open). This week, a number of court filings revealed more about the case and what outcomes are possible. We break down what these revelations mean in legal terms and what developments we should expect in this case moving forward.

The DGPT and PDGA should be listening to the response of the players, not the other way around…
She isn't a man anymore. There is no doubt. There is no reason she should not be playing in FPO.
Boner pills, old ladies' hair lip cream, steroids, are all gender affirming care. To act like using one or the other disqualifies you is a real joke since they've never checked for steroids til 2023.

This is such a unique situation. Because Natalie’s level of play is not as high as one of the top 50 MPO players, it’s almost like she’s getting a pass. Imagine Calvin heimburg transitioned and started playing FPO? It would be seen in such a different perspective. The FPO is getting robbed and needs to be protected.

Also reading comments about he went thru puberty so he should play with the men. Puberty does not matter. 12 year old boy skateboarders are better than a lot of grown men. I believe the 1st 1440 was done by a 12 year old boy. That 12 year old male kid would win every single female comp he entered, regardless of the age of the women.

I would be concerned for the safety of the Top Female Players in the World of Disc Golf. Mentally ill people do not have the rational thoughts sane ppl have which leads to exactly what is occuring across the nation. You can Transition from Being a Bad Person to A Good One. But You Can Not Transition from Being a Man to becoming a Woman. Period

Transgender women competing in women's sports is relatively new. Shouldn't we err on the side of caution instead of just opening up the flood gates. I don't understand why women are not up in arms on this so I guess I shouldn't either. I predict she will be allowed to play because the PDGA is weak.

Is there a pdga rule that states its a "gender" based division and not a biological sex based division? The division was created when they meant the same thing. If the definition of gender has changed…should the pdga not have the right to clarify the rule and state that fpo is a sex based division…hence "female". Quite frankly…anyone taking any hormone supplements should be banned from competing in a sport for money

I want her to crush the FPO in distance and score, so to prove men are stronger than women. Now, I hope she won't hold back to show that she isn't that strong and is equal to women in strength. Did she get grandfathered( or maybe grandmothered) into the tournament. She doesn't fit the transgender rules of transgendering before Tanner Stage 2 or having a level of testosterone <0.2nmol/L for >2 years.
Mr. Ryan is in the field, and will potentially steal from actual women.

The scores will be whatever they are, and people can slice them and dice them as they wish. First man, first woman, first skinny teen, first player over 35. Nobody goes home unhappy. The course does not care.

I don't really care about Natalie's wants or desires about playing in the women's division. Natalie admitted to being not good enough to play against the men– well then maybe he should be bumped down to advanced amateurs or something? In my mind it boils down to this one question: Natalie, do you know what your chromosomes are? They are either xx for female or xy for male. Simple when it comes back as xy. I think he should have to give back everything he won playing against women. How fricking embarrassing to make woman have to pay the price because he has a mental disorder and is living a lie?
