The USGA is a nonprofit organization that celebrates, serves and advances the game of golf. Founded in 1894, we conduct many of golf’s premier professional and amateur championships, including the U.S. Open and U.S. Women’s Open. With The R&A, we govern the sport via a global set of playing, equipment, handicapping and amateur status rules. The USGA campus in Liberty Corner, New Jersey, is home to the Association’s Research and Test Center, where science and innovation are fueling a healthy and sustainable game for the future. The campus is also home to the USGA Golf Museum, where we honor the game by curating the world’s most comprehensive archive of golf artifacts. To learn more, visit https://www.usga.org.

  1. Balata balls, persimmon woods, tiny greens and HOWLING winds. What a round by Tom Kite……a very deserving champion!

  2. For legal reasons, the introduction — prior to this video's actual 0:00 beginning — is omitted. The music used in the introduction is Waldo de los Rios' unique 1970 interpretation of Beethoven's "Ode To Joy" otherwise known as Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, Op. 125 "Choral": IV. Presto. Also omitted, near the end of the broadcast, is Louis Armstrong's rendition of "What A Wonderful World", played over a visual summary of the 4th round, as well as being a tribute to an ABC Sports production crew member, Werner "Wink" Gunther.

  3. persimmon heads and balata. the ball would start out low ,then rise . beautiful ball that went nowhere, but it sure felt good

  4. I have a Sports Illustrated copy of Tom Kite’s flying height in the 1992 US Open golf Championship with Tom on the front cover. It’s been on my wall since 1992. I didn’t know that my father had gone to Pebble Beach to see the 1992 US Open Championship. I inherited a towel from the 1992 Championship at Pebble Beach. Tom’s special love of the game of golf always caught my attention. He didn’t subdue his excitement and it probably led o his occasionally feeling lost in the game!
